A Harare woman is alleged to have had sex with her boyfriends on several occasions in full view of her teenage daughter, a court heard.
Elliot Chuma, a supermarket employee, told the court that his former wife Senzeni Karimazondo was in the habit of bringing boyfriends at home where she would have all night sex sessions in the presence of their daughter. He said Senzeni started bringing in her boyfriends following their separation after he caught her red-handed in bed with his best friend!
Elliot made the revelations at the Harare civil court where he had arraigned his former wife seeking the custody of their daughter. His genuine fears were that his daughter might fall victim to her mother's boyfriends since they were having sex in the same room that she would be sleeping in.
"I want custody of the child because I am the father of the child. I received a letter from her school asking about the welfare of the child. The school headmaster asked me how the child was staying at home and the nature of problems they were facing at home. I then decided to inquire from the child, she did not say anything but she only managed to cry," he said.
Elliot said he made some investigations and sent people to help him learn what was happening to his daughter. He said the investigations revealed that his ex-wife had been bringing boyfriends home for all-night sex sessions.
"My daughter said her mother was bringing boyfriends home and that she was being forced to sleep on the floor while they would be busy having sex on the bed till morning. She also revealed that her mother would lock her inside the house at night only to return home the following day," he said.
Narrating why Elliot parted ways with the mother of his daughter, he said:
"One day we were taking stock take at work and I knocked off early in the morning. When I arrived home I knocked on the door but I got no response. I then decided to sleep at the door. Senzeni was surprised to see me by the door when she opened the door. I was also shocked to see my friend sitting on my bed and it was clear that they had sex the whole night," he said.
Elliot also accused his former lover of failing to stay with their daughter, which forced her to attend about five schools in different locations. Senzeni could neither deny nor confirm the allegations that she was busy bonking with her boyfriends in the presence of her teenage daughter. However she was quick to point out that Elliot wanted to use the letter from school as a weapon against her. She revealed that she is a vendor but could not disclose what she 'sells'.
"I had been staying with the child. I am a vendor and things had not been well for me resulting in me transferring the child from one school to the other. He just wants to take advantage of the letter to accuse me of failing to take care of the child," she said.
Magistrate Vongai Muchuchuti who presided over the case tasked Senzeni to bring the child to court on 6 March to testify on the allegations that Elliot had raised in court.
