A Harare couple lost $5 000 while another was robbed of gold and diamond rings by armed robbers who raided their homes in separate incidents at the weekend.
National police spokesperson Chief Superintendent Paul Nyathi expressed concern over such cases and urged people to be wary of robbers.
He said last Friday night, a 60-year-old man and his wife lost the $5 000 to four armed robbers who blocked their vehicle at a gate to their house in Borrowdale.
"After arriving at the gate, the couple saw a white Honda CRV without registration number plates parking from behind," he said.
Chief Supt Nyathi said four armed robbers who were armed with iron bars disembarked from a vehicle and smashed windows of the couple's car and got away with the cash and two cell-phones.
