Gringo returns

After a long time off the limeligtht, actor Lazarus Boora who is popularly known as Gringo makes a return to the stage tonight at a show at City Sports Bar.

The actor is set to crack jokes for fans as he comes in as master of ceremonies at the show together with comedians Mabla 10 and Sekuru Zvambu.

The show is meant to celebrate the 35th birthday of Ronnie Bere who is Divine Assignments artist liaison officer. Divine Assignments run City Sports Bar.

Gringo who has not been seen at public events since the release of the drama "Gringo the Troublemaker" will also be joined on stage by Officer Shinda from "Bag Rabvaruka" comdey series.

The actor rose to fame with the popular gringo series with his comical acts that took him to stardom. He has been master of ceremonies for many events but of late he had assumed a low profile. Although Gringo's mobile phone was not reachable yesterday the actor always talks about his passion to meet his fans at public functions.

At tonight's show, he would warm the stage for musicians that are scheduled to perform. Musicians including Ex Q, Trevor D,Lady Gaza, Maskiri, Rocki, Stunner, Taurai Mandebvu and Extra Large would be part of the event.

Allan and Douglas Chimbetu are expected to grace the event as guest artists.

Devine Assignments boss Lawrence Chinoperekwei said they have decided to have a bash celebrations for one of their workers.

"Since he is one who is in charge with liaising with artists we have decided to have a show with different artists including comedians," said Chinoperekwei.

He said all the artists have confirmed their participation in the event.

"All the artists have already confirmed their participation at the event and we are looking forward to a great show."

Gringo said he was looking forward to the event as it would be a reunion with his fans.

"I am happy to have an opportunity to meet my fans at a public function after a long time. The show will be about celebrating and we will ensure people celebrate happily. I cannot say what I will do on the night but people should come prepared for surprises," said Gringo.
