The life of First Lady, Grace Mugabe, is now behind the eight ball, amid growing indications of a deadly end to President Robert Mugabe's succession race, before Zanu PF's elective congress in December, The Telescope News reported on Monday.
Key informants in government have over the weekend, revealed that high ranking military officers, are panicking over the possibility of being fired and arrested over a cocktail of issues, which are not yet in the public domain, should Grace become Vice President-elect."
"There is fear within the top echelons of the army, that Amai might sneak into power, while everyone might dismiss her as a joke," said a serving cabinet minister.
"Saka musashamisike mukamuka manje- manje muchinzwa rufu. (So don't be surprised to wake up anytime soon, to the sad news of a funeral). A lot of things are happening behind closed doors, because our country is now at a critical juncture."
The minister said he would skip the country, for sanctuary overseas, if he was to be in President Robert Mugabe's wife "scary situation".
"Hupenyu ndowakakosha, zvekutonga nyika izvi hatingazvipedzi. (Life is so precious, and we cannot lose it over, the politics of who rules Zimbabwe). She has created a lot of enemies, and unfortunately the president cannot protect her, at this stage."
There has been rumour in Harare, about the young wife of a powerful army official, who recently told her friends at an upmarket restaurant, that Grace would be "shot before the December congress", for attempting to put justice minister, Emmerson Mnangagwa in power.
We reported last week, that Grace is now moving around with boosted security, and a motorcade of her own, in a bid to protect herself, as threats against her life continue to mount.
A Zimbabwean prophet based in Germany, has also "prophesied" about Grace Mugabe's pending death. It remains to be seen, if the so called prophet is right, as some people have dismissed him as a "prophet of doom".
