Zim prison services warn against corruption

The Zimbabwe Prison and Correctional Services (ZPCS) Deputy Commissioner General - Administration, Rhodes Moyo has warned corrupt officers within his organisation that appropriate action will be taken against them.
Speaking at the ZPSC Mashonaland region end of year party in Harare, Deputy Commissioner General Moyo said officers must shun corruption as it is a cancer destroying the organisation, and the nation at large.
He urged officers who are engaged in corrupt activities to instead up-grade themselves academically and acquire relevant skills.
Deputy Commissioner General Moyo however said ZPCS is faced with a number of challenges and officers should know that learning demands hard work and patience.
He added that ZPCS has shifted focus from a retributive system to a rehabilitative approach which is more human and friendly.
The party was attended by ZPSC senior officers and members of the Mashonaland Region Advisory Board, among other people.
