Zimbabweans imports $8 million worth of napkins in 3 months

Zimbabweans imported disposable napkins valued at $8 million in the first quarter.
If the trend is not stopped, it will mean that by the end of the year, the country will have used over $32 million in importing disposable napkins.
A 35% decrease in male condom distribution between the 4th quarter 2014 and 1st quarter 2015 was noted while a 43% decline was noted for female condoms.
Zimstat said in the first three months imports bill amounted to $1,6 billion against exported goods worth $716,6 million.
Sanitary ware products and other toiletries accounted for more than $3,5 million in the first quarter.
Imported ceramic tiles accounted for $6,4 million, freezers and electrical gadgets valued at $16 million were imported while carbonated soft drinks accounted for $4,2 million.
According to ZIMSTAT, South Africa is the main source market for Zimbabwe's imports.
