UNDERFIRE MDC Renewal interim Treasury Elton Mangoma who hit headlines last week on allegation of snatching a 21 year old wife from a party youth has been accused of abusing his wife - Nancy.

After Mangoma's love affair with Yemurai Maravanyika broke he addressed a press briefing to clear his name  and dragged his wife along.

According to Sunday Mail columnist - Bishop Lazarus, the politician abused his wife.

"Let me go straight to the point before l am accused of gender blindness by feminists - what was poor Nancy doing sitting there looking lost as her husband Elton Mangoma of the MDC Renewal tried in vain to deny allegations that he snatched one Yemurai Maravanyika from her husband Believe Tevera?," wrote Bishop Lazarus.

"As Nancy sat at the press conference, this Bishop felt sorry for her. She looked disinterested in whatever lies her husband was spewing and her eyes clearly told the sad story of a good wife who has been dragged by a bullying husband to stand by him in an awkward moment.

"Clearly, Nancy wasn't happy but then hubby was in a bit of trouble and all talk about gender empowerment had to be shelved. It was sad for Nancy but pathetic for Elton.

"Dear reader, after these damaging allegations last week, Mangoma decided to play good hubby by dragging his innocent wife, Nancy, to the press conference where he was trying to deny the allegations.

"Nancy was there but never there. Her body language was like - you did this alone dude thinking you were clever, better be man enough to stand for yourself! And Mangoma really made a mess of the whole situation and by the end of the press conference, he had managed to do nothing but confirm all the allegations."

During the brefing, Mangoma said he met "that young girl (Yemurai) about three times and first she came here alone in my office. The second time she came with a friend and the third time we met at a workshop, which was being organised by Mwanasikana Munhu in Glen View," .

Bishop Lazarus said "It's like when someone is saying he or she is missing eight oranges from his basket, some stupid thief comes forward saying, "I didn't steal the eight oranges. I just stole five of the oranges."
