The by-election to fill the vacant Mudzi West seat is on today with Zanu PF's Magna Mudyiwa tipped to win overwhelmingly.
The seat was left vacant following the death of ruling party stalwart Aquillina Katsande early this year.
Mudyiwa, a top Central Intelligence Organisation officer, is contesting against National Constitutional Assembly's George Kawaza.
A Zimbabwe Electoral Commission official said everything was now in place for the by-election with polling officials and materials deployed at the various voting centres in the constituency.
Zanu-PF Mashonaland East provincial chairman Joel Biggie Matiza was confident the ruling party would retain the seat.
