Former Vice-President Joice Mujuru has challenged President Robert Mugabe to arrest her if she plotted to murder him the " Laurent Kabila" style.
Kabila, then president of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) was killed by a member of his security team in January 2001.
At the weekend in Gweru, Mugabe re-ignited his claims that Mujuru plotted to assassinate him.
On Monday, Mujuru, issued a statement saying after she was originally accused of plotting to unseat Mugabe and consulting witch doctors, she challenged her accusers to take her to court, but they had not done so almost a year since she was fired on those allegations.
"When I denied the allegations a year ago, I challenged the authorities to take action in a court of law. This is still to happen.
"I was accused of plotting to overthrow the President, I was accused of visiting witch doctors for assistance and that I had betrayed the ethos and the values of the liberation struggle. I did nothing wrong."
She added , "Lately, I have been said to be a part of People First, as if it is a crime. I am free to do whatever I choose to do with my life outside Zanu PF.
"It is part of the freedom I fought for when we went to war. This is enshrined in our State Constitution. We should desist from thinking and believing that any other political party is illegal or unconstitutional for that matter." Last year in November, Mugabe's young wife, Grace also told a rally that she will be killed "Gaddafi style" by her political rival and nemesis, Mujuru, when Mugabe dies.
"She [Joice] has been telling people that once Mugabe dies, she will draw me close to her, and my secretaries told me that she will drag me in the streets, with people laughing while my flesh sticks on the tarmac," she said.
Ousted Libyan dictator Colonel Muammar Gaddafi was shot by rebels in October 2011 and then dragged through a Misrata street, screaming for mercy before he died.
