Mthwakazi Republic Party (MRP) has said it is worried by the current trend where political parties are just pooping up like nobody's business.
The party said just after 2013 elections there has been more than 20 new political parties and different pressure groups most of which are pooping up in Mthwakazi.
"In the next few months we are likely to welcome 3 or 4 political parties adding to the already blotted number of parties in Mthwakazi. We wonder if this is going to help us in anyway?" said Mbonisi Gumbo the party spokesperson.
"As MRP we are worried by this trend its not helpful at all. In 2013 during early stages of the formation of MRP we approached many people from different political parties with the view to make them lead us and or join us as we start our march towards the Restoration of Mthwakazi. Many of Mthwakazi leaders turned us down some claiming that it was impossible to market such a party locally. While others said they were comfortable where they were."
Gumbo said some even claimed then that it was impossible for a Mthwakazi restorationist party to operate from Mthwakazi or home as it may, unless if you are a CIO.
"Our party President have been abused by some jealous people who believe that what they can not do, no one can do it despite the fact that our President has sacrificed a lot for the struggle. Our party leadership at some point were called operatives for standing by our people through thick and thin and truth," said Gumbo.
"But now the same people we approached and turned us down and some who called us names are now doing the same thing forming regional or restoration parties. When we formed MRP there was a need because there was no pro Mthwakazi party operating from home, we wanted to feel the vacuum. Now that we have done it why not you work with us instead of forming other parties to further divide our people?"
Gumbo said their call has always been unity while it is their constitutional right to form parties we as MRP believe it is possible for all of them to belong together work as a united force.
"We believe that the same way that we approached them is suppose to be the same way they should do now that they have seen the light, let's try and find each other and get Mthwakazi working again. We have always said as MRP we are open to anyone who is genuinely in support of Mthwakazi's quest for self determination," he said.
"Meanwhile we are reliably informed by our party structures in Lupane that following the Fatima Secondary meeting towards the end of the first term where Dokora was publicly embarrassed because of his bad behavior by our party leadership and supporters. He Lazarus Dokora together with some of his cabinet ministers and their Chinise friends did not want another embarrassment, that's why they disallowed locals from attending the handover ceremony of a school built by the Chinese for the same community they closed out."
"We are aware that nothing comes for free, the government of Zimbabwe is planning to parcel out mining claims of gas in Lupane to their Chinese friends, and the military among other equally connected individuals like they always do. As MRP we will continue to fight all the injustices being perpetrated by the regime against our peace loving Matabeleland people who have been abused for a long time by the wicked Zanu PF regime," he added.
He said they were calling for all Mthwakazi forces to unite and not lose focus. Honestly some of their petty differences can be resolved amicably all we need is to seat down and talk.
