Founder of The Girl Child Network, Betty Makoni is among the the top 10 nominees for (Afrikan) Goddess of the Year Awards, the award's website confirmed on Thursday.
Extract from www.goddess-of-the-year.com: For three weeks, the committee voted tirelessly to select the top 10 nominees. It was not an easy task, but they stuck with it and made the difficult choice of eliminating 3 of the inital 14. Obviously, they were reluctant to let go of one more - which would have given us an even 10 and not 11 to choose from. Yes, it is the top 10 list, but we have 11 names because 2 tied for the 10th spot continuously - after several rounds of voting in which we hoped to break the tie.
