Liberation Front has condemned the arrest of Bulawayo youth and
described the action by the police as out of ignorance of people's
rights to petition and picket.
Bulawayo party' spokesperson Ndabezinhle Fuyane said the arrest of the Bulawayo Youth Agenda by the police on 27 June was a result of ignorance by the security agents.
"The demonstrations were done peacefully as they tended to highlight the plight of the people especially in this region," said Fuyane.
"The youths intended to forward their concern to the provincial minister of state Sandie Eunice Moyo in form of a petition, highlighting the fate of the youths and people of this region. Some few weeks ago the minister had aired her views commenting that the President of Zimbabwe deeply love the City, could that have happened if the deep love availed?"
Fuyane said could the youths have marched in town if the so called love was there?
"This is a clear indication that the minister only recognized her bread basket other than the reasons she was appointed for. The small group demonstrated bravery to the city and showed that despite the population of the city not partaking to the move, there is hope for better future and the room is there to change things for better," he said.
"The small group which was intercepted by a swam of police at the main gate of Mhlahlandlela complex was just harmless, but helplessly taken to the drill hall. They only demanded the implementation of the devolution of power by this government, the creation of jobs among other plights as highlighted by the constitution of this land which has failed its functioning since the publishing in 2013, now this was a symbol that the present government has totally failed it's mandate as the custodian of the citizens."
He said Mthwakazi people have suffered a silent assassin in the hands of the present government.
"The fear that has been instilled to Mthwakazians has hit the region to the extent if failing even forwarding their plights to the responsible authorities. People should stand up in support of such as this is the signal to the beginning of the struggle. There is no referee for the struggle, Enough is just enough, the time has come, the time is now. Mthwakazi stand up for your rights," he said.
"The plight by the Shona people against Vice President Phelekezela Mphoko' against his residing at Rainbow Towers Hotel that had seen the the electronic social media circulating on is just a total signal that shonas are barbarians."
Fuyane said their intentions of boycotting to buy goods from the Choppies shops won't stop the flowing of the business in Choppies.
"This simply implies that people from this region should desist and boycott from buying goods in shona owned shops in the region. You are talking of VP Mphoko but you are not talking of the $7 million that was recently smuggled from Zimbabwe by VP Mnangagwa' s son which was purposed to the fall of the economy," he said. "How much has been spent by this government on personal properties which has not been accounted for? How much did the first family's mansion cost? You have not recognized any Mthwakazian figure since."
"You are but a pathetic and a shameful tribe, not even recognized the efforts made by this people in oppressing and betraying its population for your good. Your businesses are just all over and yet you talk of that treatment, what do you take us for. We have the same capabilities that you have, therefore don't undermine this people who has suffered a lot in the hands of this present government."
Fuyane said leaders have let the region down by running its affairs down.
"Your boycott won't stop us from managing, we have done a lot without you,so you need to desist from spreading the gospel you have no testimony of," he said.
