Cannabis relieves pain - magistrate told

A Harare man found with 36 sachets of cannabis (mbanje) told a magistrate that he badly needs to smoke the weed due to the nature of his work.
Collen Mudoti aged 27 did not waste the courts time as he pleaded guilty before Mbare magistrate Tafadzwa Miti.
He said the weed helps to easy pain endures at his work place.
"Your worship, the work that I do requires a lot of labour so I have to smoke so that I will not feel the pain and sometimes because of the harsh economic situation I am forced to smoke so that I will not be depressed," he said.
The magistrate was told that on October 22 around 10 am police on patrol stopped and searched Mudoti and found him in possession of 36 sachets of dagga weighing 95 grams.
He was due for sentencing on Tuesday.
