A team of pioneers of the school yesterday visited the school to assess the needs of the the school and came out with the following needs:-
The school is now offering evening classes after the Government's call for schools to be self sustaining. A number of subjects are offered including Hair dressing as a way of encouraging self-employment amongst the public and former students. The pioneer students who, last year promised computers, reiterated that they were still gathering them and shall be a big announcement soon. The headmaster of the school Mr William Ncube also briefed the pioneers on the recent tribalism storm and said they have moved on are geared to seeing the school develop.
"What I can say is that we have constructed fish ponds at the school and are waiting for the fish and the feed. Once we secure money for these, our selected students will be running the project," Ncube said
The headmaster also sought help for the purchase of a Public Address system. "We appeal to you former students of the school to assist in the purchase of a PA system. It has now proved a challenge when addressing almost a thousand students especially in the morning at assembly. We kindly ask you to help us with a quality PA in order to send important messages in the morning and at particular gatherings like Prize Giving ceremonies. "
Ncube appreciated the legacy left by the founding principal of the school, the late Mr Gerald Evans and also commended the pioneers for instilling the sense of pride and dedication through their collaboration in Annual Speech and Prize Giving day. To this end, one product of the school, Privilege Sibanda, who last year was a recipient of various prizes that included a floating trophy from Professor Precious Sibanda, attained 19 points at A level. He went on to study medicine. The headmaster also sought help for many other former students who could not progress because of lack of funds.
The pioneers were represented by Mr Mthobi Ndlovu and Mr Sikhumbuzo Hadebe who promised to spread the word to other exit groups of the school.
