Ireland - Malawi, New Ambassador present Credentials

DUBLIN, Ireland - His Excellency, the Ambassador of the Republic of Malawi presented his Letters of Credence to the President at Áras an Uachtaráin today
H.E. Mr. Bernard Herbert Sande, Ambassador of the Republic of Malawi, was accompanied by Mr. Vupé Kunkwenzu, Counsellor at the Embassy.
Mr. Joe Costello, T.D., Minister of State for Trade and Development at the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, represented the Government at the ceremony.
The following were also present: Mr. Adrian O'Neill, Secretary-General to the President; Mr. Brendan Rogers, Deputy Secretary-General at the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade; Mr. Joe Brennan, Deputy Chief of Protocol, Ms. Marion O'Donnell and Ms. Emma Madigan, Assistant Chiefs of Protocol, Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade.
The Ambassador was escorted to and from Áras an Uachtaráin by an Escort of Honour consisting of a motorcycle detachment drawn from the 2nd Cavalry Squadron, Cathal Brugha Barracks, Dublin, under the command of Lieutenant Richard Piggott.
A Guard of Honour was provided at Áras an Uachtaráin by the 1st Infantry Battalion, Mellows Barracks, Renmore, Galway, under the command of Lieutenant James Mulderrig.
Captain Fergal Carroll conducted the Army No. 1 Band.
