The MDC-T totally dismisses the State media reports claiming that on Sunday the President of the Youth Assembly, incited violence.

The State media reports are base propaganda meant to mislead the people and portray the MDC-T as advocating for violence ahead of the coming elections.

We to put it on record that during his address at Rudhaka Stadium, Madzore stated that  the MDC-T Youth Assembly wants the securocrats to respect the will of the people when they vote  in the forthcoming  harmonised elections and that there should be no rigging whatsoever.

The MDC-T's position is that the people of Zimbabwe should be given a chance to hold free, fair and credible elections that are held under an environment that is conducive and whose outcome will not be contested.

In our elections manifesto, which was unveiled on Sunday, the next MDC-T government led by President Tsvangirai will have an opportunity to create millions of jobs for the youths.  Unemployment remains the biggest challenge in Zimbabwe and the youths want jobs and the next MDC-T government will resolve this by the resuscitation of industries among other measures.

The MDC-T Youth Assembly's position is that the youths of Zimbabwe should have better opportunities in education. The Youth Assembly is happy that the party, in its manifesto highlighted that the MDC-T government will resuscitate grants at tertiary level and offer free basic education and other forms of affirmative action for the young people.

We respect and have always respected our security forces who act in a professional manner at any given time.  While we respect our war veterans for liberating the nation, we nevertheless maintain that they should remain non partisan and respect all Zimbabweans regardless of their political affiliation.

The MDC-T is committed to a free, fair and peaceful election conducted under an environment that guarantees the secrecy of the vote, the security of the vote and the security of the voter.

God bless Zimbabwe.

I thank you.
