This is IT - Protect The Vote
This Saturday Zimbabweans in Diaspora should congregate to demonstrate their solidarity with their compatriots at home who are courageously demanding a their right to vote freely in the face if a regime that is determined to steal their vote.
The chairman of the Free Zimbabwe Global Protest, Den Moyo, has christened this weekend's protests at Zimbabwean Embassies all over the world, This Is IT - Protect The Vote.
"This is it ladies and gentlemen, this could be the final round of our protests, and I pray to God that it is. If all was well and the election process was going according to the dictates of a free and fair plebiscite, then this final round of our gathering would have been reserved for pleasantries alone, to express our gratitude and thanksgiving for the success of our campaign.
"But, alas! it is not so, to the contrary Round 19 becomes the final push that will determine the conduct of our election officers, military, police, government officers, SADC, AU and UN come July 31st and the morning after."
Moyu said, without reforms we are likely to have another sham election which will end up being an endorsement of continued Zanu PF illegitimate rule. He noted the recently completed shambolic and treasonous voter registration - an onslaught on Zimbabweans fundamental right to choose leaders of their choice.
The process clearly laid out the intentions of Mugabe and his coterie of thieves to cling to power at whatever cost, he said, adding:
"If we are committed to the fight to liberate our country from tyranny ,lets move forward to Round 19 with the theme "Protect The Vote."
Let us put our minds together and come up with the best possible way we can protect the vote and the voter. Round 19 should send an unequivocal message to ZEC and the rigging masters that the Zimbabwean people will not tolerate a rigged election.
We should however substantiate our threats with actionable items. In Round 19 we should demand:
That members of the opposition parties be allowed to participate and oversee the conduction of the elections;
That the opposition members be in the presence of the ballots at all time until counting is completed;
That the results be announced as the votes come in from each ward.
"We hereby call all democracy loving citizens of Zimbabwe to join us in this call for a transparent and credible election exercise.
"Let us gather at the Zimbabwean Embassies worldwide at 2:00PM on Saturday July 20th to demand our fundamental right to choice and human dignity.
