Dumiso Dabengwa: Personal Statement

To You Dear Zimbabweans

We have travelled a long, thorny road together - seeking nothing but justice and peace. Our fight is nothing but the establishment of a truly democratic state.

I am humbled by the confidence and trust you showed in me and your Party ZAPU. My profound appreciation goes to you all for what you did on Election Day.

You stood firm and showed the rest that we are coming back in 2018 much better prepared and stronger.

In the name of our late heroes; Dr Joshua Nkomo, Josiah and Ruth Chinamano, Dr Tichafa Parirenyatwa, Daniel Madzimbamoto, Samuel Munodawafa, Jason Ziyaphapha Moyo, Lazarus Nkala, Tarcisius George Silundika, Mark Nziramasanga, Edward Ndlovu, Nikita Mangena, Lookout Masuku, Thenjiwe Lesabe - the list is too painful for me to continue. In their name, I once again salute you for your resilience.

I conclude by quoting, Luis Corvalan , the former Secretary General of the Chilean Communist Party, "We all cherish life, but not at the expense of our revolutionary conviction."

ZAPU's ultimate goal is to redeem those ideals for which the liberation struggle was all about.
