JOHANNESBURG - Driven by the passion they have for their culture and the enthusiasm to save it, vibrant young authors have combined under the name: Abalobi Bakithi to publish a book titled 'IZIGIGABA ZAKWANDONGAZIYADUMA.'
Published by Ekhaya Publishers (Johannesburg), the book consists of 14 short stories written by 9 authors. The official launch will be on the 7th of December at Othandweni in corner Edith Cavell and Kaptein streets in Hillbrow, Johannesburg. Tickets costs R100, they are currently available and will also be available at the gate during the launch. He who buys a ticket will get a free copy during the launch.
"The book comprises of different stories and our aim is to highlight the difficulties and circumstances we face in South Africa especially students back home. We encourage them to concentrate and complete their studies knowing that the grass isn't that greener as it appears across the road (South Africa). It's our task and our goal to cherish and preserve our precious language and we are also encouraging people to read these (Indigenous) books for the good of our culture," said Bongani Ncube.
"We would to thank the community for encouraging us through out this project, tribute also to Abalobi Bakithi for the unity we have. Hope you will enjoy the book and also learn a lot from it," added Meluleki 'Vodloza' Sibanda.
