Types of SA Visas one can apply for: (1) Visitors Visa

A Visitor Visa is applied for at a South African Embassy at the applicant's country of origin. In the case of people from Zimbabwe at 7 Elcombe Road Belgravia in Harare. An applicant can also apply for a renewal or change the conditions of an existing visa. The decision grant the visa or permit is made by the Department of Home Affairs through a Visa & Permit Facilitation Centre close to the applicant's residence.
A Visitor Visa is a document that gives travellers permission to enter and stay in South Africa on a temporary basis for
(1) Visit to family or friends and for tourism purposes.
(2) Business purposes.
(3) a Spouse to join a spouse who is already in South Africa on a work or study permit.
(4) Children to join parents who are in South Africa on work or study permits.
(5) Fiancée or Fiancé to join his or her partner with the intention of marrying within ninety days.
(6) Study purposes that is for three or less months.
(7) Research.
(8) Life Partner.
(9) Conferences.
(10) Work in the production of a movie or any show in the entertainment industry.
(11) Medical purposes and for
(12) Sports events
Please note that any other applicant who is a spouse or child of a person in possession of any visa can apply for a Visitor's visa in terms of section 11(1) of the Immigration Act 2002 for a period more than three months but not exceeding three years. This means that when you get your ZSP permit your children or spouse can apply for a visitor's visa that will be valid for three years. A visitor's visa cannot however be issued to another dependent person like a mother, father, brother or sister.
