As Matebeleland People in Diaspora (MPD), we would like to applaud the people of Matobo, for their bravery and unity in their fight against the injustices of the Zimbabwean government. It is that kind of spirit that will see us as Matebelelanders move forward and again gain respect from the ruling government. The land is our birth possession that we shall never let go of. We urge all Matebeleland people in all corners of the region to value and protect their resources  with all they have, from foreign invasions.

We would like also to extend our thanks to Hon VP Mphoko for intervening and taking a bold decision to tell Rodney Mashingaidze to fuck off. Maybe this time around the leadership crisis that Matebeleland have always had, is finished. By the stand he took, he showed signs of being surely a Matebelelander and we hope he provide answers to all the predicament situations that we are faced with as a region.

We therefore on behalf of the Matebeleland people ask Hon Mphoko to tackle the issue,
(1)of Gukurahundi, which has remained a thorn in our flesh till this day. People who die in all corners of Zimbabwe of whatever reason are getting buried each day why is it not so with the victims of Gukurahundi who died some decades ago, not knowing whether no one in the Zimbabwean laws shall be buried before their killers are identified.

As MPD and through this statement we would like to assign Hon Mphoko to go and table our plea to the parliament and we would be happy to get a response not later than July.

(2)of the influx of Shona teachers in our schools which has contributed immensely to the poor pass results in the region over the year.

Our children are our hope for a better future and thus we wish to see them excelling at school and we don't think that can ever be possible if they are taught by teachers speaking languages foreign to theirs at early years of their education.

As the people of Matebeleland, we have live long enough in the nightmares of Gukurahundi, and marginalisation and we now want to get over them, forever.
