Today we stand as the Young Women in Politics Forum, saddened and disheartened by the killings perpetrated by a demonic sect namely Al shabaab on innocent students at Garissa University.
We therefore stand in solidarity with all Kenyan youth to categorically condemn strongly these senseless attacks on fellow African brothers and sisters who lost their lives quite suddenly due to evil, despicable acts of terror perpetrated upon them by barbaric sanguinaries packaged as religious people .
We urge swift justice against those responsible for this mass murder whose sole purpose was clearly to frighten Kenyan citizens. It is high time Africa deals with terrorism blanketed as religious fundamentalism once and for all.
This callous targeting of an institution of higher learning where the future generation of the nation which represents a country's most brightest beacon was a strategy aimed to cripple the country on purpose in terms of its future contributors.
We send prayers at this difficult juncture to those who grieve for the loss of their loved ones and the numerous more injured and missing ,that they may all be comforted by a greater power who is the Almighty God.
We say also to the Kenyan youths that our struggle for peace and security throughout Africa and indeed the world must remain steadfast so that we do not tire as youths to defend our freedoms of association and choices of religion together with all that is fair and just in our beloved continent.
The incidence of terrorist tendencies constitutes a serious threat to international peace thus any heinous acts of terrorism are criminal and unjustifiable regardless of the motivation by whoever commits them.
We must as Africans all endeavour to help prevent radicalization. We will always embrace the wise word....injure one injure all.
