Congratulations to the Scottish National Party on Winning the 2015 Elections

Official statement of the Matabeleland Solidarity Forum

Matabeleland Solidarity Forum would like to express its sincere congratulations to the Scottish People and in particular the Scottish National Party and its leadership headed by Nicola Sturgeon for the overwhelming 2015 election victory which saw the party garnering 56 MSPs.
Coming at a time when those opposed to the inevitable Scottish Independence were still celebrating the dreadful outcome of the September 2014 Scottish Independence Referendum results, this electoral victory is testimony of the aspirations of the Scottish people for their independence. It is indeed a consolation from God to the SNP for the referendum loss and also a confirmation by the Scottish voters that the referendum may have been lost but the vision has not been lost.
As the people of Matabeleland, we celebrate with you in this moment of happiness and wish you all the best as you seek to empower and better the lives of the Scottish citizens. We pray with you as you lobby for policies and systems that will ensure a better Scotland and we are confident that this victory is a call for you to work harder in the Scottish Government.
As the people of Matabeleland who have also been advocating for their self rule and self determination after years of subjugation, marginalization and annihilation, we continue to draw serious and profound lessons from the Scottish people who are our epitome of resilience and commitment for self rule, independence and self determination.
From you we continually realise that peaceful self determination is possible in our time and we shall always be grateful of the leadership and example that the Scottish people continue to set for all the peoples of the world who seek their inalienable right to self determination including the people of Matabeleland.
Once again, Congratulations, Amhlophe to the Scottish people and the Scottish National Party.
Matabeleland Solidarity Forum is a civic organization that exists to advocate for a strong and organized national and global solidarity between the people of Matabeleland and the global peoples/communities/nations with similar human rights and developmental issues and aspirations.
