Zapu RSA goes to policy and elective conference

ZAPU RSA province have gone and come back from a successful policy conference thus weekend.
The first thing that shocked many was the attendance at the conference, all the 3 strong political districts were fully represented.
The road to the conference started two months back when branches were nominating their preferred presidential candidates and National Executive Council representatives.
Policy discussions at branch level were also done concurrently with the nomination process.
Many policies were submitted and discussed by thematic committees and submitted to the policy and strategy portfolio,who will submit to the conference delegates on 21/11/15.
One of the key policies captured is the land policy.
ZAPU believes that every citizen of Zimbabwe is entitled to land and land must be utilised for the purpose intended for at all times.
Delegates also called upon the Congress to come up with ways of regulating social media.
Towards the end of the conference elections followed,Dr Dumiso Dabengwa who was nominated by all branches serve for one that nominated the party's current SG.As per the party constitution the one nominated by many branches becomes the outright winner.
ZAPU RSA province is one of the biggest and well organized provinces,their endorsement of Dr Dumiso Dabengwa as its sole Presidential candidate means many other provinces who are yet to go for their provincial conferences will also follow on the same foot steps.
Seven were nominated for the Nec representatives positions,elections were conducted and two candidates came out victoriously,that is Cde Orchard Nyathi and Cde Future Msebele.
ZAPU believes in blending youthful and experienced members.
Esintwini sithi zibotshwa lamajongosi, as a party believe in youth.
We hope other provinces will also elect young NEC representatives who will surround our Presidential candidate Dr Dumiso Dabengwa.
ZAPU 10th Congress is four weeks away and will be a resounding success.
