Entire Zanu PF leadership is corrupt and must resign - PDP

The on-going exposures in the media at the Zimbabwe Revenue Authority (Zimra) and other scandals involving various factions of Zanu PF confirm how highly corrupt the entire Zanu PF leadership is and why it should resign immediately and pave way for the National Transitional Authority (NTA).
The corrupt activities of senior Zanu PF officials and their appointed cronies in state owned enterprises and the local authorities have reached alarming and frightening levels resulting in the total collapse of the economy and social service delivery.
It is shocking that the level of looting in government, parastatals and the local authorities has led to workers going for months without receiving their salaries while some public institutions like the Harare Central, Parirenyatwa and Mpilo hospitals have to stopped carrying out life-saving surgical procedures as they have no pain killers and reliable water supplies.
Every year, Auditor-General Mildred Chiri has been exposing how senior government officials have been involved in high level criminal abuse of state resources but unfortunately no arrests have been made following the exposures and the looting by these Zanu PF officials continues.
The most corrupt person in Zimbabwe now is arguably the Emmerson Mnangagwa. The reports that he owns 735 gold mines are ridiculous. His involvement with Glencore and the Beira fuel pipeline needs investigation.
His deals in retail fuel supplies with Zuva and Puma companies needs investigating. Mnangagwa also has to be investigated over his incestuous relationship with controversial businessman Billy Rautenbach and his Green Fuels ethanol company.
Mnangagwa has to be investigated for his incestuous relationship with Anjin diamond mining company and the looting of diamonds in Marange of which a total of US$15 billion worth of diamonds remain unaccounted for.
Virtually every Zanu PF minister is corrupt and is involved in primitive accumulation. Ignatious Chombo, the home affairs minister, is reported to own properties in every town and rural district in the country while local government minister is under the spotlight for illegally grabbing vast tracts of farm land from resettled farmers.
Finance minister Patrick Chinamasa is involved in strange dealings with car dealer, Croco Motors and fertiliser companies where luxury vehicles for senior government officials and parliamentarians are imported at highly inflated figures.
For over one month, higher education minister Jonathan Moyo, has been gloomily trying to defend himself after him and his deputy stole hundreds of thousands of dollars from the Zimbabwe Development Fund (Zimdef).
The Zimbabwe Anti-Corruption Commission (Zacc) is also investigating how the $1, 6 million that was released by the Treasury for the Media Panel Inquiry (Impi) was used amid concerns that equipment and vehicles acquired for the programme cannot be accounted for.
Elsewhere, Robert Mugabe has proved that he cannot root out corruption as he is also embroiled in a scandal of grabbing over 14 prime commercial farms across the country. Mugabe has also been implicated in take out of the country, over US$2 million every time he and his family embark on their numerous travels outside the country.
In Harare, residents are going for weeks without water supplies as the Harare City Council is failing to purchase chemicals for water treatment. Yet, the city directors have been awarding themselves millions of dollars a year in unsanctioned allowances, city employees have gone for months without getting their salaries.
A health crisis is looming in Harare and Chitungwiza as most suburbs have to endure up to five days a week without water supplies as revenue is diverted to fund the senior managers' luxurious lifestyles.
A recent audit has also exposed how Zimra directors were involved in massive corruption, fraud, poor corporate governance and tax invasions prejudicing the Treasury $20 million.
Instead of the Zanu PF government fighting the corruption, which is now found in every sector of the economy, senior Zanu PF officials are now involved in unproductive factional fights of who will replace Robert Mugabe.
Some ministers instead of concentrating on their government mandates are spending time consulting spiritual healers. The Zanu PF leadership has proved that it is a totally incompetent rogue regime that does not respect the rule of law and human rights; and is only interested in looting the country's resources.
As a result of Zanu PF's incompetency, the country will soon face serious fuel and electricity shortages as the country fails to attract funding as investors fear that their money will be looted.
As the People's Democratic Party (PDP), we reiterate our position on the urgent need for an NTA to solve the country's economic, social and political crises.
Zanu PF has proved that it wants to create the manifestation of the vulture or chaos scenario in which unconstitutional and undemocratic, violent options become real.
However, the NTA will unlock an inclusive transition that will reconcile the competing issues of peace and stability against democracy and change.
The NTA will also be an opportunity for Zimbabwe to resolve issues of political, economic and social challenges. The NTA will also ensure that the country has key electoral and media reforms before the 2018 elections.
The NTA will create a win-win situation for ordinary Zimbabweans, where stability and peace are reconciled with the imperators of social reconstruction, economic recovery and development.
