Police in Matabeleland North have reportedly summoned Mthwakazi Republic Party Matabeleland North Chairman Prince Moyo for questioning following the party rally held on Saturday in the district.

Party spokesperson Mbonisi Gumbo said Nkayi Police summoned Moyo on Tuesday.

"The desperate regime has once again summoned MRP's Matabeleland North Provincial chairman Moyo to Nkayi police station after our successful twin rallies at Cross Zenka as well as Mpumelelo business centre. As a party we say despite all this intimidation and killing of our people the meetings will go ahead," Gumbo said.

"A Nkayi popularly known CIO operative by the name of Razor had threatened to shoot us. He wanted to force us to conduct our meetings according to his way of which we refused that. We are peace loving citizens exercising our Constitutional Right to freedom to political choice, Right to self determination and Right to freedom of speech. "

"We are working with a tight budget we cant afford to be called by police willynil after all they are not our members neither are they our prospective voters. Asifuni Bumbulu please leave our Chairman, MRP and Mthwakazi alone!. Why is it that each time we go to Matabeleland North province we encounter problems?, who are you to dictate to us where to campaign and where not to in our land of Mthwakazi. Matabeleland North is part of uMthwakazi and we cant have you lisiklolodela la MRP is bigger than Chairman Moyo whether you arrest him, kill him, the struggle continues untill you kill us all," he added.

"Asesabi, asethuki, asikhali noma singabotshwa silwela inkululeko yethu. Nothing will stop us. You have been presented with an opportunity to amicable solve Matabeleland issues in a peaceful manner instead of you grabbing the opportunity to solve this through dialogue you are busy threatening us."
