Man assaults neighbour with an axe handle

A Plumtree man, Mehlelu Moyo, has been jailed after he allegedly assaulted his neighbour with an axe handle during a dispute.
The 24‑year‑old appeared before Plumtree magistrate Joshua Nembaware, who remanded him in custody to 13 January.
The State, led by Sheila Nyathi, told the court that on 4 August 2023, Moyo had a misunderstanding with Cabangani Ndlovu. During the altercation, Moyo allegedly picked up an axe handle and used it to strike Ndlovu.
Ndlovu sustained injuries to the head and hands. He was taken to hospital for treatment, and a medical affidavit confirming the injuries was submitted in court.
