Furious woman bashes ex-lover with a knob-kerry

A HWANGE man who had visited his ex-girlfriend in an attempt to initiate reconciliation was struck with a knobkerrie resulting in him sustaining internal injuries.

Aleck Nyoni, a plant fitter and turner at the Hwange Colliery Company, was rescued from further assault by neighbours who restrained his ex Tarisai Kawara from further inflicting damage on him.

Kawara pleaded not guilty to assault when she appeared before Hwange provincial magistrate Portia Mhlanga, who sentenced her to a wholly suspended four months in prisons on condition that she performs 140 hours of community service at the Hwange Magistrates' Court.
