A JILTED Tsholotsho man bit a Neighbourhood Watch Committee members nose when he intervened during a brawl with his small house.

Sipho Ncube (39) of Sipepa village in Tsholotsho, Matabeleland North reportedly disfigured Ntando Mthombeni by biting off part of his nose.

As a result of the biting, Mthombeni was left without the lower nasal cartilage.

Mthombeni has been advised to go for plastic surgery if he wants to restore his natural look.

Circumstances surrounding the matter are that on 25 October, the accused had a misunderstanding with his girlfriend after he had been red-carded.

It is reported Ncube proceeded to his girlfriends homestead to beg for a reunion, but the girlfriend refused.

When Ncube persisted, the woman then proceeded to the kitchen hut where she took hot porridge and scalded him all over the body.

Ncubes wife got wind that her husband was having a misunderstanding with his girlfriend and rushed to the woman's homestead.

When she confronted the girlfriend about the issue, it is reported that the woman picked up a log and started assaulting Ncube until he fell unconscious.

The wife fearing for her life as well, reportedly ran to report the matter to the village head who advised her to inform a Neighbourhood Watch Committee member, Mthombeni.

Mthombeni rushed to the scene and ordered the couple to return to their homestead while he remained at the girlfriends homestead. It turned out that Ncube was not happy with the way Mthombeni handled the case as he later confronted him. He then accused him of sleeping with his girlfriend.

A misunderstanding erupted between the two and Ncube then attacked Mthombeni. The matter was reported to the police and Mthombeni was ferried to hospital where he was admitted.

A doctor's report was produced in court and it revealed that Ncube needed to go for plastic surgery. Ncube pleaded guilty to the assault charges and was remanded in custody to 2 December for sentence.
