26 Jul 2016 at 09:37hrs | Views
On 22 July 2016 at 16:00pm we met Prince Peter Zwide Khumalo, with three other Khumalos, a representative of Ibhetshu LikaZulu, representatives from Joshua Mqabuko Trust, officials from Mthwakazi Ka Mzilikazi cultural group, individuals and MRP officials. It was more of a crisis management meeting where Prince Peter Zwide Khumalo was updating us on their plans and the way forward.
Zwide told us that they have agreed as the Khumalo family that the King must come from the King Lobengula lineage nowhere else. He explained the processes for the selection of the king. Everyone in the meeting expressed concern over lack of commitment on the part of Khumalo family to put their house in order and produce a pro Mthwakazi Restoration Agenda King.
We have met with different Khumalo family groups who have different theories about Kingship. Which is delaying the Restoration process of Mthwakazi considering that Khumalo family and the yet to be announced King are important stake holders in this whole process.
On the 19th of July 2016 we met two representatives of Prince Stanley Khumalo who also told us their own side of story, they also invited us to attend tomorrow's service which we are not sure exactly what will be happening there.
As a party MRP we have agreed not to take sides on this matter but encourage the Khumalos to put their house in order and announce a king. We agree that we will not say who is right or wrong if all of them come to us for discussion we will be open and available for such discussions. We agreed that we will support who ever will emerge from the Khumalo family as the heir apparent.
We understand that ukubayi Nkosi ngumbango, we believe that both King Mzilikazi and King Lobengula fought their way to the throne therefore it is of Paramount importance for the Khumalos to understand that even in church people fight for power, influence and control and they are not an exception let the King to be, prove himself.
What we know as a party is that we need a King and not just a stooge but a dignified Mthwakazi King who will not compromise and end up serving the interest of our neighbours. It's high time we have a King it has been over 121 years since our Kingdom was destroyed and its disturbing us as a people and a key stakeholder. We encourage the Khumalo family to frequently update people on their efforts of Kingdom Restoration; it's high time they involve all Mthwakazi Chiefs and the generality of the people on the issue. As a party we are advocating for Mthwakazi Restoration and we seek to have a Constitutional Monarch.
