- On Today's segment the author will present some of the challenging topic in Divinity

- The subject today is the prophet Amos ,it is known that Amos was a prophet who prophesied in the Northern region whilst he was coming from Southern Region. He was a headman, sycamore tree dresser and a shepherd, this is indicated in Amos 1:2,7:11-14.

®. It is prudent at this stage to remember that Amos, as much as he was a prophet who was commissioned to prophesy in Israel he went on to condemn the surrounding nations as well. This is recorded in Amos 1-2:6.

- Therefore, on this ongoing article the writer will remind /educate someone on the sin and punishment of surrounding nations including Israel as well.

- The writer will go extra mile on this work proving that Amos condemnations in Israel also happen in our society. The surrounding nations include the following

b)JUDGMENT - destruction

4.  EDOM - Am 1:11-12

®AMOS CONDEMNATION IN ISRAEL APPLY IN OUR SOCIETY. FOR INSTANCE
  - Bulawayo24.com has recorded number of so many people who lost their farmlands between the time of colonisation up to date .Losing the farmlands for so many reasons one of them being the status of an individual,The point is that the poor are being oppressed by the rich, this is the same thing which Amos condemned

  - During the Smith Regime, the Zimbabweans were being oppressed ,this is the reason why they revolted ,thus, evidenced by 1st Chimurenga and 2rd Chimurenga ,This is the reason why prophets like Samuel Mutendi and Ezekeil Guti criticised the oppression of the blacks by the whites ,The point in this case is the oppression, and it is the same thing that Amos condemned in Israel

  - The media recorded the prostitution which was prevailing in Victoria Falls between the year of 2003-2009.In other words this means that men were sharing the same maiden .It also means that there are high chances whereby the son and father ended up sharing the same maiden indirect .And this is what Amos exactly condemned. Therefore, one will be awarded to a certain degree for proving that Amos condemnations apply in Zimbabwean society.

  -  Amos condemned Israelites who silenced the prophets. In Zimbabwe ,silencing prophets was common during the liberation struggle were it is said that the Smith Regime silenced the likes of Ezekiel Guti and Samuel Mutendi for their messages which was anti-colonial ,leading them to be imprisoned.
