- The above question requires the candidate to focus in Zimbabwean context, The Zimbabwean context is not a headache ,since they are so many books and articles which have been authored by so many authors e.g. "OT Questions and Answers by Arthur Marara " .The book is useful as it gives the reader a picture about Zimbabwean context. Personally, I have written different articles concerning the Zimbabwean prophets ,you can make use of them. All local newspapers publish different stories concerning prophets .For instance Bulawayo24.com ,Newsday, Southern Eye and Nehanda Radio Newspapers .
- The writer will focus on the following prophets to execute the above question
- Madzibaba Wimbo
- Madzibaba Godfrey Nzira
- Emmanuel Makandiwa
- Uebert Angel
- Blessing Chiza
- W .Magaya
- Freddy the Spectacles prophets
- Lloyd Matikiti
- The writer might have left out some prophets who can be useful in
dealing with the question
ANSWERS
- Predicting future events cannot be separated with Zimbabwean prophets ,Zimbabwean prophets have been active in predicting about the Political ,Economical and Social Status in Zimbabwe .Politically, they are so many prophets who have predicting the leaders for instance, this has even published by local newspapers ,Wimbo in 1957 is believed to have been predicted that Zimbabwe will be led by the president with a name of an angel "Gabriel" and it came to pass when President Mugabe became the president in 1980 .Madzibaba Godfrey Nzira predicted that Mugabe is divinely elected .Zionist prophet named John Mandiriri cited by Arthur Marara in his book entitled "Old Testament Questions and Answers" ,the prophet claimed to be having prophecies of the nation It will be unfair if the writer ignore the prophets who have prophesied about the future of Zimbabwe because the newspapers have recorded the story .The prophet is named Matikiti ,he was quoted by Newsday Newspaper saying "It was long announced to me by the Spirit of God before the so-called …."[You can follow the following link for the full story https://www.newsday.co.zw/2015/10/19/]. - Economically, Zimbabwean prophets have contributed greatly .The prophecies of Zimbabwean prophets can be classified in two classes "doom and hope" Makandiwa in one of his judgment night said people will be picking gold .Magaya early 2016 predicted that 2016 is the year of abundance. Bulawayo well known prophet Chiza also predicted hope economically in the year 2016 "The US dollar will be removed and the Zimbabwean dollar will be considered, it's now near. When it comes, it will be very strong. God has put systems already to receive a strong currency of its own" All this authenticate the claim.
HOWEVER PART
- In as much as it can be said Zimbabwean prophets are known for predicting future events, it will be a mischief if the writer ignore the view that ,they are also known for performing unending miracles and fighting for justice .For instance .Zimbabwean prophets perform healing and nature miracles ,this is true in the case of W .Magaya ,W Magaya has performed so many miracles ,he once hosted the service of miracles ,during this service lot of people were healed ,this was even published by Nehanda Radio Newspaper on the 16th of May 2016 "Magaya hosts miracle night Prophetic Healing and Deliverance founder Prophet Walter Magaya will today host a "miracle night" at his church in Waterfalls, Harare, where thousands of people are expected to attend" During the service some claimed to have been healed after being anointed by the man of cloth.[Some believe that miracles contribute to the increase in the church] All this shows us that Zimbabwean prophets are also known for perfoming miracles [recently I wrote the article concerning miracles of Zimbabwean prophets ,you can follow this link for more information http://bulawayo24.com/index-id-opinion-sc-blogs-byo-93423.html]
