Strive for a Heavenly inheritance
14 Mar 2017 at 11:22hrs | Views
If the mighty works, which have been done in thee, had been done in Sodom, it would have remained until this day. Matthew 11:23.*
If we heap ourselves riches and fail to fairly distribute it among the weak, widowed orphaned and less privileged; we will be holding on the notion that we will live forever on earth - which is wrong.
We have to strive for a heavenly inheritance: by showing the works of faith with our little possession here on earth.
God entrusted us the earthly inheritance (your possession) not for selfish purposes but to give to the needy: the gesture of compassion which was first exercised by Jesus Christ in that while we were yet sinners, alienated & cut off from benefiting the heavenly inheritance, He died for us!
If you cannot see the mighty works done to you (blessings of ability, riches & possession); then if these mighty (salvation & mercy) works were done to the heathen, they would be praising God better. Remember some who don't conform to the faith of Jesus Christ give much of their possession to their hand made gods and those around them!
God is teaching us to deny ourselves and take up our cross & follow Him.
The comparison of us to Sodom is challenging as the people drank & ate while some where beggars by the city's gates
Are you a good steward of your earthly possession, denying yourself and seeking heavenly inheritance
God help us understand His will & do it whilst it is the day
Be Blessed!
