Nigeria's Former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode, has unleashed another shocking revelation in the unfolding saga surrounding the deadly implosion of a guest house within The Synagogue, Church Of All Nations (SCOAN) in Lagos, Nigeria on September 12th 2014.
In a continuation of his exposé titled, ‘Murder In The Church', Fani-Kayode reiterated his bold assertions that members of Nigeria's intelligence agencies were responsible for the disaster, adding that this secret was leaked to him by their colleagues in the industry.
"I will not mention their names but I will tell their story," the vocal politician revealed. "They told me why the operation was carried out, how those involved covered it up and how they attempted to hit T.B. Joshua the second time but failed."
According to him, those responsible for the tragedy in Joshua's church were equally behind the fatal helicopter crash in 2012 which led to the untimely demise of Nigeria's former National Security Advisor, General Andrew Azazi and then Kaduna State Governor, Patrick Yakowa.
"They told me how the operation was conducted by rogue elements in the intelligence agencies without the knowledge of Mr. Eta Ekpeyong, the head of the Department of State Security (DSS) at the time who was totally loyal to Jonathan but with the knowledge and support of a handful of disloyal and ruthless senior operatives from other arms of the intelligence agencies who provided the logistics, hardware, man-power and funding for the operation," he continued.
According to Fani-Kayode, "there was a foreign component to the whole affair," a claim he promised to expand on in subsequent write-ups.
The ex-Minister added that there was equally "a religious dimension", asserting that "a group of fifth columnists within the security agencies in Jonathan's government had sworn that they would destabilise his government and either kill him or stop him from coming back in 2015… Their view was that the country must not be ruled by a Southerner or a Christian and that Jonathan must be stopped at all costs."
So, what was the role of Joshua in such political quagmires? "T.B. Joshua's crime was that he knew too much and that he was secretly exposing their plans to those that cared for Jonathan."
Their intention, according to Fani-Kayode, was for the controversial cleric "to be discredited, stopped, ‘kept busy', rubbished or permanently silenced".
In the light of these revelations, Fani-Kayode publicly called for the "terrible tragedy" to be "revisited and properly investigated by the security agencies with a view to bringing the real perpetrators, and not their victims and targets, to justice."
He additionally called for the general public to "question anything and everything that their government tells them about such events."
Insisting that the write-up was not intended to cast aspersions on the work of intelligence agencies, Fani-Kayode noted that there was a "darker side" to the industry with "people that are obsessed with secrecy and haunted by some of the atrocities that they and their friends and associates may have committed in the past".
The erudite lawyer promised to reveal further details about the "modus operandi" of those behind the fatal incident at Joshua's church in a subsequent write-up.
