Discussing Tsvangirai's illness and need to resign is 'unAfrica' says Ncube - usual nonsensical appeasement

"I just find it astonishing. Just about my upbringing in every respect tells me that we should not have a conversation like that (Tsvangirai's health and whether he should hand over MDC leadership to someone else), at all. It's in bad taste, it's unAfrican, unedifying, think of any other adjective, this is not the right thing to do," Welshman Ncube told journalists.

This is just nonsense and typical of the nation has come to expect from our corrupt and incompetent leaders.

The people of Zimbabwe have risked life and limb to elect Morgan Tsvangirai, Welshman Ncube and all the other MDC leaders into power on the understanding that they will bring about democratic changes, their party name promised. The changes to deliver the nation from the iron grip of corrupt, vote rigging and tyrannical rule of Robert Mugabe and his Zanu PF thugs.

Tsvangirai & co. have been on the political stage for 17 years now and they have failed to bring about not even one democratic change. They had the best chances to bring about far reaching democratic changes during the GNU when Mugabe's hands were tied behind his back by the Global Political Agreement (GPA) in which he agreed to the implementation of a raft of democratic reforms designed to dismantle his dictatorship brick by brick and build a healthy and functional multi-party democracy. Tsvangirai and his MDC friends were tasked to implement the reforms.

After five years of the GNU, MDC leaders failed to get even one reform implemented. Not one!

As soon as MDC leaders joined Mugabe in the GNU, the tyrant saw to it that they were given all the trappings of holding high office; the ministerial limos, generous salaries and allowances, a former white-owned farm and a $4 million mansion for Ncube and Tsvangirai respectively, etc., etc. Of course, it was a bribe and it worked. Tsvangirai & co. kicked all the reforms into the prickly pear thicket never to be recovered, not even the constant nagging by SADC leaders would get MDC leaders to barge one inch.

SADC leaders advised Tsvangirai & co. not to contest the 2013 elections with no reforms in place. "If you go into elections next month, you are going to lose; the elections are done," SADC leaders had warned.
Sadly, SADC leaders' warning fell on deaf ears. Tsvangirai & co. went ahead and contested the flawed and illegal July 2013 elections and, as expected, Mugabe and Zanu PF went on to blatantly rig the vote and win with a landslide.

After the blunder of failing to implement even one reform during the GNU which they then compounded by contesting the flawed July 2013 elections one would have thought that Tsvangirai & co. finally learnt the lesson of the critical importance of implementing the reforms BEFORE and elections. In 2014, they vowed "No reform, no elections!" but only to be soon forgotten.

Tsvangirai & co. are dragging the nation into yet another election next year knowing fully well that not even one token reform was implemented since the rigged July 2013 elections. MDC is claiming to have devised Winning In Rigged Election (WIRE for short) strategies. Of course, the party has no such strategies.

MDC has been banking on its old strategy of a massive opposition vote, for example. Zanu PF has already seen to it that this will never happen by delaying the Biometric Voter Registration exercise until the 11 th hour, less than a year before the voting day. There is no way ZEC, even with the best will in the world (which it does not have), was going to register 7 million voters in the four months. And true to its partisan nature ZEC have made the registration as chaotic and difficult as possible, the harder people tried to register the higher ZEC has raised the bar. Many potential voters will never register and many of them will be opposition supporters.

There will be no time to produce a verified voters' roll and so Zanu PF carry out all manner of vote rigging shenanigans; posting opposition supporters details in wrong polling stations, allowing Zanu PF supporters to cast multiple votes, etc.; with no verified voters' roll, the smoking gun, no one will be the wiser!

"If we go into elections next year, we are going to lose; the elections are done!" To parrot SADC leaders' 2013 warning. And yet, Tsvangirai & co. still refuse to listen!

Tsvangirai & co. have dragged the nation into this mess, of course, the people have every right to question the rational of continuing to have Tsvangirai as the leader of the opposition. He has been leader for 17 years and has absolutely nothing to show for it. The man is breathtakingly corrupt and incompetent and, as if that is not bad enough, he is sick.

There is nothing "unedifying, unAfrican, bad taste" or whatever else Professor Ncube could come up with about dealing with the fact and reality that Tsvangirai is a failed and utterly useless leader, has proven himself to be so beyond all reasonable doubt, and he must step down. African culture accept, indeed demands, that leaders must step down and allow others to take over.

"USHE MADZORO HUNORAVANWA!" (BEING CHIEF IS A CHORE, EVERYONE MUST HAVE TURN!) SO GOES THE AFRICAN ADAGE!

The trouble with shallow minded leaders like Welshman Ncube, Morgan Tsvangirai and most notably Robert Mugabe, is that they value African culture and practice whilst they are aspiring for power but as soon as they get into power they discard the same culture or worse still falsify it to suit their selfish interests!

Tsvangirai is a breathtakingly corrupt and incompetent leader who have already overstayed for any good he has ever done and should have handed over power to someone else years ago. The fact that he is very sick, only means the urgency for him to go is that much greater.

Leaders who overstay, hanging on to power like a binnacle to a rock by rigging elections, are the root cause of Africa's backwardness and stagnation. Zimbabwe is in serious economic and political trouble right now, we are the poorest nation in Africa, and we are not going to get out of this mess by allowing the same corrupt, incompetent and murderous tyrants to remain in power.

Life-president, is unAfrican and trying to tell Tsvangirai and Mugabe that by appeasing them has clearly not worked! We must prise on binnacles off the throne by scolding them with boiling water! Corrupt and incompetent leaders must be told in no uncertain terms, they are failures and they must go. We demand free, fair and credible elections - our ultimate power to give failed leaders their marching orders!

There many ways of killing a rat other than stuffing it with nuts and cheese!
