Human Beings can never be recycled

---simply because we are not material.

I do agree that we have sell-outs who are betraying the masses and such includes the war veterans.

I read with interest Comrade Tendiee's (Stephane Ndlovu Makusha) comments and am very disappointed that he missed a lot I wanted to hear.

Mbuya Nehanda, Sekuru Kaguvi and other Greats died for a true cause; what they wanted was to see all the masses from all the corners of the country living well deserved lives and disappointingly it is not the case.

They did a very good job in liberating us from white colonial minority rule but they are forgetting they did not do it alone. The masses provided and sacrificed with their lives also. Genocide that happened during the liberation struggle of black people by Smith's army has long being forgotten and not recognised till date by these cadres (so shocked to see videos of such aired by SABC 1 of South Africa and that was when Ian Smith passed away). The masses paid heavily for hiding the war vets, feeding them, holding rallies with them, women forcibly providing sex to them (war vets) but  they quickly introduced a stand-alone approach (benefits for war vets only and only them). They will tell you that only they made it possible and hence deserve better not other citizens.

I do not have a problem with them getting a grant, but only that they also contributed in a mess we are having because of ego centrism.

The blunders they made include the following:

    - They did not get war veteran certificates; honours early as there was no graduation ceremony to value the achievements and it meant a course not completed hence no direction (only background).

    - Soon after independence a few assumed duty to lead but not accountability; they forgot many of their heroes/heroines (who fought alongside) and families of fallen heroes/heroines and ate alone.

    - Those who assumed responsibility, instead of touring their country (all corners), they started touring developed countries admiring and owning property and banking large sums of foreign currency there.

    - They made sure that charity begins at their home and stays there, while other districts scramble for left overs forgetting what they fought for their country.

    - They quickly learnt to be very fluent in English and forgot life skills orientation.

    - They were the first to dine with former white colonialists, drinking champagne and they quickly forgot about the masses (chasing stars for themselves and not providing for the country).

    - They forced their way to lead top companies and government departments etc. Vakadziirwa and forgot to advance themselves academically (THE NEW WEAPON) and eventually such companies and departments are performing dismally (no profits or service delivery).

    - They keep on lying to themselves and luring the nation, inflicting fear that if we do not do it their way, they will be a third Chimurenga. Who do you fight (peace loving Zimbabweans) when you are ageing, obviously we have to look after them (that period of hyperinflation, sanctions [war] etc. marked the third Chimurenga and we again came victorious though we had a lot of causalities and refugees; obviously we are also war veterans).

    - They hired the youth, luring them and teaching them to be militant and vibrant (promoting child soldiers to do crime) instead of helping them with knowledge and encouraging education to advance the country's economy for continuity (what I meant about no direction).

    - They did not learn about the richness of their country (large mineral deposits) hence foreigners looted in the name of investing for 3 decades and was it not for the Lord and poverty which awakened us; we would be heading to the deep blue sea.

    - They do not want to admit to mistakes (superhuman), it is always others doing wrong.

Ten chapters would have covered their weaknesses because they missed the whole point after successfully liberating the country.

Pakutema munda, or zvakatanga ka nemwi vakuru vedu (Macheso); describes the greedy by some war vets which almost shook the country to its knees.

The way you fought hard the white colonial rule is the same way you were supposed to fight hard not only for land reforms, but also equal land sharing, community development, youth development, engaging with masses the way you guys did during the liberation struggle, taking bullets for your fellow comrades and masses and not dodging them (as is currently). It also means engaging with your former top comrades in top offices today and using your influence to remind them what you fought for (I do not think you fought for your benefits only and if it is the case, are you all enjoying as war vets?). I would be correct to say three quarters of the infrastructure we have today was completed during the colonial era or the settlers' era. We should be boasting by now of WAR VETERANS FOUNDATIONS/ ACADEMIC HOSPITALS/ YOUTH DEVELOPMENT FUND/ MEDICAL ACADEMIC INSTITUTIONS/ COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT/ MEMORIAL FUND as opposed to grants for them only.

The black person will still tell you that he needs more time, to do what â€" RECYCLE WHICH MATERIAL because HUMAN BEINGS ARE NOT MATERIAL (The late Chiluba).
If the war veterans put their pride aside and help for a few of their years on mother earth, we will definitely remember them for liberating us and the last minute goodies otherwise they would be remembered for not building anything but destroying what was already there or started by some dedicated individuals.
