Charity begins at home. Indeed the First Lady Mai Mnangagwa is a mother to the nation and her Angel of Hope Foundation is a beacon of hope to many disadvantaged families.
The schools feeding programme initiative is very noble and came at the right time following successive years of drought and the Covid-19 induced shortages.
I appeal to the First Lady to visit Chinehasha Primary and Secondary Schools in Chiweshe to restore the cheer with her benevolence and big heart. We heard you were at Chemhanza High, the smiles and laughter of satiaty are still reveberating in the province.
The youngsters are happy, moreso the food coming from mother of the nation. It's nice to be with the people even if it means sharing their discomfort and experiencing the pangs of hunger that you can douse and quench.
Much as we are farmers, many have lost livestock to droughts and cattle diseases.
With no draught power, farming becomes only a theory with nothing to show for it on the ground. Our hyper-active kids need food, with no food schooling becomes a talk show with no takers.
Come to Chiweshe mother of the nation, ululation, whistling and hand clapping awaits you, not forgetting the iconic revolutionary fist in the air.
Footballs, soccer kits and poultry projects are some of the DIY prepacks that can go a long way in jump starting go-it-alone starter packs for our youths.
School children need food 'Amai', it's the squeaking wheel that gets the oil. We are all eyes, awaiting you soothing arrival.
