Afrikaners building white‑owned university in Orania: Naledi Pandor cries racism!

South African xenophobia exposed a region in South Africa, Orania, a place exclusively for white South Africans. Black South Africans allowed to reside in this exclusive and posh area are domestic workers or construction workers. In this enclave, there is law and order: no crime, no loitering in the streets, no litter. Any black person walking around without purpose is document‑checked by the neighbourhood watch: is he or she a domestic worker? They need only domestic workers to do the menial jobs, just like it was during apartheid times.


Dr Naledi Pandor condemned this open separate development. She says it must be stopped. On what grounds is she opposed to this development exclusive for whites? South Africa got its independence 32 years ago, the only African nation with golden opportunities to uplift the lives of African people. Former President Mandela came out of prison with saintly etiquette.

When Mandela took over as the first black president, he was given a soft landing by world monetary bodies. They were generous with the new black government and gave abundant resources meant to bring noticeable change to the lives of black South Africans.

To alleviate immediate suffering of blacks, social benefits were introduced. No African nation has had such privileges. ANC should have taken the golden opportunity of resource abundance to transform the black population. They did not. The euphoria and excitement of black Uhuru took the better part of them. The ANC elite started eating on behalf of the black population. The black people got forgotten in the true sense of the word.

Press fast forward: white South Africans are dismayed about ANC corruption and hallmarks of an inept black government. Looting by government officials started the day South Africa got independence. A nation that was called the “rainbow nation”, a nation that prides itself on “all those who live in it” being South Africans. ANC did not have the slightest idea how to develop the nation post‑apartheid. Again, it became clear to them, perhaps later, that the South African economy did not belong to them but to a nation traded in Wall Street markets in New York.

Dr Naledi Pandor should have started complaining the moment she realised South Africa is not economically independent. Naledi, together with her ANC compatriots, rubber‑stamped a nation that is only about political privileges and not the economy; it does not belong to them.

First, the white population went with the flow. They had hoped that if there were academic stalwarts in ANC, change could be for the betterment of all who live in South Africa. The moulds of Thabo Mbeki, Ramaphosa, scholars of economics from the UK — Thatcherites — gave some modicum of capitalism, and they knew much about the synergic South African economy. When Ramaphosa took over as President of South Africa, he was already an oligarch together with several other ANC young Turks.

Xenophobia taking place in South Africa today is a sideshow. The unfortunate leaders of “March and March” have been organised by a third force, perhaps from the ANC government, to sack foreigners. The council elections in South Africa will be dominated by the DA, a white political party that has found itself in government through a government of national unity, GNU. It is clear that Madam Zille will win council elections because the black population will overwhelmingly vote for her. ANC is no longer trusted.

Is Naledi Pandor going to complain about Madam Zille winning council elections? She does not realise that ANC has lost it politically; the party of “excellence” will collapse in the coming general elections in 2029. ANC ineptness and looting are so evident that even apolitical blacks in Soweto can see it and are now openly complaining about poor services. The Madlanga Commission is just the tip of the iceberg. The rot in ANC is unimaginable even by common sense.

Blacks have realised that ANC and other black politicians cannot deliver basic amenities. This brings me to the argument about the existence of the Republic of Orania: inside is the Afrikaner university that is currently under construction. There is law and order in Western Cape and Orania. The amenities are run efficiently to the satisfaction of all residents, black and white. No shake‑shake establishments, no places where people squat and squalor. No open toilets. Councils run by ANC are in a desperate state of rot because resources meant to run these amenities have been looted right, left and centre. The Madlanga Commission is evidence.

The future of South Africa is fragile. Unlike Zimbabwe, Zambia or Malawi, most black South Africans are landless. Orania is just the beginning in recapturing African land and making it theirs. Blacks have lost confidence in ANC and African administration altogether; they may go with it, allowing white people to regain power from ANC.

South Africa is slowly losing political power and the nation will easily fall back to white rule. Mark this space. The Afrikaners saw this coming long back; hence they are making contingencies to give the coming generation of Afrikaners a sound foundation in education and other empowerment strategies. The Afrikaner university will empower the white youth with STEM education to regain the lost land: South Africa.

Dr Naledi Pandor and her ANC party failed the black people. ANC, under former foreign minister Pandor, meddled in geopolitical crises as if there is law and order in South Africa to be proud of. Criminality in South Africa is horrendous. Women and girls, even babies, are raped daily. Citizens losing limb and lives is second to New York. What was the purpose of Ramaphosa going to Russia and Ukraine to school them about peace — the peace that is not in South Africa? Sudan’s war demands all countries in Africa to stop it.

It is an opinion that South Africa should not have filed a lawsuit against Israel at the ICJ. They say Israel’s military actions violated the 1948 Genocide Convention. Much as it was a noble action to put Israel on the spotlight against atrocities committed against the Gaza people, South Africa cannot pedestalise itself so high. The recent xenophobic activities exposed and cancelled the humanity South African people still held. Naledi Pandor’s statement about xenophobia was most unfortunate. To justify the violence and treatment of black by black in South Africa, coming from a former foreign minister, is sad and insensitive.

There is rawness of life in black South African communities. This “March on March” on the streets of major towns and cities in South Africa — how half‑naked men, holding sticks and machetes, “weapons of mass destruction”, proudly shouted, sang, kicked and screamed, threatening women and children — black South African civilised standards in 2026.

Do they know how these borders came to be and where? They use colonial vestiges and artefacts to criminalise black brothers and sisters. Naledi Pandor sees no problem with that, but she condemns Afrikaner people for putting their lives together to make it work. Nothing decent is working in black‑run communities. Curiously, in Cape Town, white people aided Malawian mothers who were sleeping rough in the cold winters of Cape Town. Zero compassion from Cape Town African residents.
