It's not about Kenya, it's about Zimbabwe - stupid!

Today, 30 March 2013, the Supreme Court of Kenya, unanimously ruled that the March, 4, 2013 election that elected Uhuru Kenyatta had been "free, fair, transparent and credible". It said that Kenyatta had been "validly elected" and dismissed petitions filed by Raila Odinga, outgoing Prime Minister and Kenyatta's main rival in the presidential race. Odinga had alleged a series of irregularities and that the election results had been skewed.
But if you think this development in Kenya is about Kenya then think again. Kenya is really about Zimbabwe. What we see in Kenya is just Zimbabwe pre-played in Kenya.
As for the MDC formations they might just forget about an election. They have just worked themselves hard into a political trap and the clear message from Kenya is that the MDC formations should not bother themselves about a post-'election' court petition come July 2013. In any event, the MDC's 2000 petitions are still gathering dust in Registrar's office.
The trap the MDC formations have been set is a simple one, and is formulated around their insatiable hunger for trappings of office and financial private gain. They exposed their political rears far too liberally for a hawkish system like that run by Zanu-PF and Zanu-PF has politically massaged it for this endgame. MDC are history!
Zanu-PF and its handlers have led the MDC formations on a garden path of a post-election second GNU based on a GNU-2 pre-written as the now endorsed Copac Constitution. You only need to look at the lightning speed with which the so-called 'parked' draft provisions of the Copac draft were 'resolved' by the secretive deal made between Zanu-PF and the two MDC formations to get a sense of what really happened. And based on the 'success' of that secretive deal the people were given barely two weeks to 'vote', let alone read and understand what they were 'voting' for, before being foisted with a Copac Draft Constitution watermarked 'yes' all over. And, just as Zanu-PF and the MDC formations wanted a 'landslide' vote on the Copac Constitution, they got a 'landslide' vote.
And - surprise, surprise – from nowhere, pop, out comes this shadowy outfit calling itself 'Friends of Zimbabwe' (FOZ) to endorse the Copac Constitution before the people have washed off the pink from their thumbs! And before the Copac Constitution is even a Bill they organize a meeting in London and issue a cheerleading song which they call a Communiqué dated 26th March 2013. In the Communiqué, and in excitement, the FOZ cannot disguise that it is the body behind the Copac Constitution and Copac Referendum.
But who are FOZ?
Apparently, Friends of Zimbabwe is an organisation started by the diplomatic service of the European Union's European External Action Service (EEAS). The EEAS is the foreign relations department of the EU. Represented in the FOZ London meeting were the following countries: the USA, Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Canada, Czech Republic, Denmark, the EU, Finland, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Japan, the Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, the United Kingdom and Australia. Both the US and the EU immediately certified the Copac Referendum as 'credible' and 'peaceful' even as it was obvious that there had been a boycott of the Copac Referendum. And this rush to judgment from counties and a block that have maintained so-called targeted sanctions on Zimbabwe!
The official line that this rush to judgment is to 'reward' Zimbabwe for behaving is of course for those who can be fooled and need to be fooled – the People. The reality is of course deeper, and is about pre-preparing the Zimbabwe people to accept a 'rehabilitated' Mugabe and Zanu-PF as a government ahead of the event –the 'elections'.
The reality therefore is that the secretive 'deal' that virtually killed off the original Copac Draft Constitution and the 16th March 2013, are not, contrary to public perception, an agreement between Zanu-PF and MDC formations. Rather, both are Zanu-PF's and its external handlers.
And of course FOZ are supposed to have suddenly emerged after the Referendum! And of course to a regime desperate for 'friends' the fact that its name is patronising is the whole point, and the regime will ingest it anyway. Of course 'Friends of Zimbabwe' actually means 'Friends of the Regime'. From here on, the People are now the enemy of FOZ. That is why people and organizations like Madhuku and the NCA, who are saying everything correct about the just-ended Copac Referendum, must now be ignored and dismissed as political pariahs; they see and know too much!
Yet this is where the MDC formations have made their biggest political blunder.
The West has resolved to off-load the MDC formations. As the West could not do it publicly – and always the users they are - they have resolved to do it through Zanu-PF, through an 'election' whose outcome is predetermined. And those who say the Referendum result is a pre-rigging are correct. ("Zanu PF tests its rigging machinery" http://www.theindependent.co.zw/2013/03/28/zanu-pf-tests-its-rigging-machinery/). The MDC formations have just signed off as the Copac Constitution their own political suicide Note.
From now on the MDC formations can mourn and throw the political tantrum, no one will listen to them. They will even be killed and their erstwhile political handlers will not care a hoot, and nor will the people. The MDC formations are about to feel how it feels to be betrayed. Their betrayal began on the 15th September 2008, and many said it. On the 16th March 2013 they made their betrayal final and confirmed themselves publicly as sell-outs, having betrayed the democratic cause on its each and every step and tenet along its arduous road, including denouncing by all unpleasant deeds and expletives, its founding president, the late Gibson Sibanda.
This GNU-2 pre-written into the Copac Constitution is therefore a figment of the MDC formations' political imagination, even if Zanu-PF's now 'recovered' handlers might want it. Mugabe and his co-Gukurahundi and Murambatsvina co-accused have come far too close to The Hague for their comfort at the hands of the MDC formations to leave the MDC formations politically twitching. This time Mugabe and Zanu-PF are making sure, and with the West now behind them or wilfully blind, the MDC rout must be and will be total and complete. And no one will shade a political tear. The MDC formations deserve everything they are about to get, when they turn to join tyranny to face the people as enemies. They have peeled themselves of the protective shield of the people and chosen the ring of office and the boots of paid protectors! Good luck to them.
And this is critically where Kenya is important as the virtually decided Zimbabwe's elections.
Kenya has just 'elected' into Office an ICC-indicted President. Who can now accuse Mr Mugabe as ineligible as a candidate and indeed as an elected President, come July 2013? And for all we all know this is the end of the ICC's indictment of Uhuru Kenyatta. What better legal coup could Mugabe and his co-accused have asked for? The UK and EU have already 'congratulated' Uhuru Kenyatta on his election – an ICC indictee!
And when Mugabe and Zanu-PF unleash their macabre trade after the elections in 2013, the one we mandated and supported the MDC formations to help us remove in 1999, who will dare 'invite' them to The Hague when this very world of democracy and human rights, 'installs' ICC-indictees in Africa at a time of transition? And why shouldn't the world when 'movements' for 'democratic change' themselves become the vehicle through whom brutal dictatorships in hospices recover themselves, all because when it mattered these movements chose not to matter?
And we cannot forget that Kenya' GNU is also the template on which the Zimbabwe GNU is based.
The three times failed presidential aspirant, Raila Odinga, shares this notoriety with the MDC's now three times failed presidential aspirant, Morgan Tsvangirai. It remains to be seen how Raila Odinga is to be 'rewarded' for his 'commitment' to 'democracy' and the 'rule of law' in similar vein as it will be interesting to see how Morgan Tsvangirai will be similarly 'rewarded' after the elections. It should not surprise anyone if MDC-T 're-joins' Zanu-PF and the MDC goes into 'coalition' with Zanu-PF post the elections.
It should have long been obvious that Tsvangirai, like Odinga, have long been distracted from the democracy project by their sight on State House. It should come as no surprise when they develop 'cosy' relationships with the political enemy, and when such things as the secretive 'deal' and the hurried Referendum occur. It's therefore back to the drawing board!
Zimbabwe has now been set up and pre-psyched for a return of a Zanu-PF regime. You can rest assured that the forthcoming 'elections', like the Referendum which the MDC formations have stupidly endorsed and gone along with, is now a ritual which Zimbabwe will be made to go through merely to coronate Zanu-PF – again!
