Baba Jukwa needs a second awakening

In 1980, we in Zapu tried to tell Morgan Tsvangirai, Solomon Mujuru, Edgar Tekere, Tendai Biti, Baba Jukwa that they should not vote for a divisive Mugabe.
We gave our honest reason based not on hate but on character. We explained that Zimbabwe is a diverse country with about 24 different cultures and Mugabe has been brought up to believe that only the Zezuru culture is supreme. Mugabe did not grow up in a mixed culture communities you would find in Gweru, Bulawayo or today's Harare. In all he did while he was our Secretary General in Zapu 1962, Mugabe displayed a tribal mindset which was not known in Zapu before his arrival from Ghana.
We had worked with Mugabe and moulded and mentored him into a politician by 1980 but what we failed to remove was his childhood teaching that only the Zezuru matter. During 1980 elections, Mugabe used the theme of "Shona" to win unsuspecting people. Tsvangirai voted in the 1980 election with the "Shona" mindset instilled into his belief by Mugabe.
Tsvangirai forgot that although he was Shona, he was not Zezuru and that astigmatism was never realised until after 19 years.
In 1983, Joshua Nkomo wrote Mugabe a letter and prophesised to him that violence and tribalism in a diverse country like Zimbabwe does not work. On that year, Mugabe had unleashed Gukurahundi to wipe out the Ndebele people aiming to clean Zimbabwe and make it a Shona state. This violence caused Nkomo to flee to UK where he wrote Mugabe telling him that IN THE FUTURE, THE VIOLENCE THAT IS USED AGAINST THE NDEBELE WOULD END UP BEING USED AGAISNT THE SHONA LIKE TSVANGIRAI AND HIS MDC. Nkomo prophesised this 16 years before MDC-T was formed.
Zapu has experience beyond what Baba Jukwa can comprehend. We have the talent of oldern Kings and Queens who had the power to tell the future simply by analysing the present. In 1983 when Nkomo warned about the coming violence from Zanu to the Shona, Tsvangirai was running all over without a shirt singing Vamugabe vanodada nacho chimbambaira. It did not make sense to him that the Ndebele who were on the slaughterhouse were Zimbabweans.
Nkomo gave his prophesy but in Zapu, we do not force people to take our advice, "Chiramba kuudzwa chakaona nembonje", "Isalakutshelwa sabona ngomopho".
Even on this day, Tsvangirai and BabaJukwa are still stubborn to believe what we are saying about the handicap of Tsvangirai.
While Tsvangirai is intoxicated in power, we know we cannot advise him. Instead, he thinks we need his advice. But, for pitiful but otherwise intelligent fools like Baba Jukwa, we are only sorry that he cannot rise above culture and stop looking at Zimbabweans according to who is Shona and who is Ndebele. Baba Jukwa is so much Shona that he can't even imagine the feelings of the Ndebele people if they are being called TERMITES by a Mugabe mentored Tsvangirai. Baba Jukwa cant believe that the inside secret intestines of Morgan Tsvangirai does not like a brand of Zimbabweans called the Ndebele.
Baba Jukwa has never taken time to study the actions of Tsvangirai which led to the split of MDC in 2005 and the subsequent refusal by Tsvangirai to form a coalition with Ncube in 2008.
The little I can educate Baba Jukwa about the diversity of the Ndebele Nation is that 75% of them were Shona before the arrival of Mzilikazi in 1840. These are the Zimbabweans Mugabe called Ndebele and unleashed Gukurahundi on. These are the 75% that Tsvangirai is calling termites and like Mugabe he does not like. These are the Moyo's Bvumavaranda, the Sibanda Shumba, the Ncube Shoko but ignorance makes you see them as different from the rest.
Mzilikazi built a diverse Nation and called them the Ndebele and the diverse composition of that Nation makes them stronger than and single culture in the Southern Hemisphere. These diverse people have been cemented by Mzilikazi and become a better thinking Nation where the direction of Zimbabwean politics revolves. For someone to think that he is going to rule Zimbabwe by rejecting the wishes of the Ndebele is a pipe dream.
Those people who were born in strict Mashonaland where there are no Ndebeles, they misunderstand the Ndebele.
The Ndebele do not hate the Shona because the Ndebele are composed of 75% Shona. The majority of the Ndebele people speak Shona and the minority of Shona speak Ndebele. Welshman Ncube and Dumiso Dabengwa speak Shona and Mugabe, Tsvangirai, Makoni cant speak Ndebele.
Ncube with his love approached Tsvangirai for unity in 2008 and Tsvangirai with his traditional hate denied a coalition and said tinowhinha vasipo ava vauyi. The following week he was holed in some foreign embassy fearing lynching by Mugabe who he once trusted as a Shona leader.
Baba Jukwa should learn to understand that Dumiso Dabengwa knew why Tsvangirai was supposed to be denied the vote to go to state House. After Mugabe, we do not want another Mugabe. We want a leader who grew up with diverse Zimbabweans not just his tribe.
A diverse leader who has the blood of the Shona and of the Ndebele knows no politics of division. Baba Jukwa took too long praising Mugabe and like Tsvangirai, he has now had an awakening. But still its not enough, Baba Jukwa has not actually figured out what made Mugabe reduce Zimbabwe into rubble. He needs a second awakening where he will notice that who ever runs Zimbabwe on tribe like Mugabe and his imitant Tsvangirai, will never prosper our diverse Nation.
