Members of Zanu PF, should be proud and bearers of exemplary leadership and service to the people of Zimbabwe. Now that new conditions are posing acute challenges to these key components of governance. Under the fearless leadership of the first lady must confront these challenges head on, and deal decisively questions of renewing leadership, restoring discipline and rejuvenating quality democratic organisational culture not only within their party but in government too.

On all these fronts the Team should without apology herald a period of regeneration, so that we can as a country march towards economic freedom as a strong, united and disciplined collective. The incoming competent-corruption free, united and patriotic leadership should make it a priority to deal with all issues that must help restore unity and cohesion of our people regardless of political affiliation.

It must be the aim of the leadership to unite the people of Zimbabwe for the complete liberation of the country from all forms of discrimination and national oppression. Establish a clear period of renewal of the values, character and organisational/government practices for purposes of sustaining progressive change in the country.

All constitutional structures of government should be resolute and decisive in stamping out ill-discipline and should do so without fear or favour, as such behaviour damages the image of our country. This will enable us to learn from our experiences and work in unison in building a democratic and prosperous nation state.

Such leadership will help in the development of enduring capacity to renew ourselves as a people. The capacity for self-criticism, self-reflection and correction; principled leadership and tactical agility; steadfastness to principles, shunning shortcuts, corruption and populism; the capacity for managing internal contradictions; the centrality of the people and the belief that the people shall come first.  Attending to these issues, ushering in a new political dispensation, renewal process and an ability to lead transformation through a consistent commitment to serve the people, will without doubt end in tears of joy for the people of Zimbabwe.

The entry of the first lady into politics will go down as the period that not only raised the alarm about the negative impact of poor, corrupt and incompetent leadership , it also called for renewal to defend the traditions of  Zanu PF  as a liberation movement that must remain loyal to the people of  Zimbabwe. It also marked a moment for self-reflection, self-correction and adaptation to new economic challenges.

The first lady's drive for the organisational renewal should help pave the way for critical reflection and debate, creating an atmosphere whereby together with other stake holders, the country can collectively find lasting solutions to all very difficult problems. This requires leadership to lead honestly, competently, humbly and decisively, and for all Zimbabweans to ensure that we all take responsibility for the health of our country.
