The demise of Robert Mugabe and all his legacy

03 Nov 2014 at 20:24hrs | Views
An older friend of mine once told me how Mugabe proved his intelligence while in prison when he played games with his prison mates. He would be on his own while they would be on the other side helping each other with the game and still he would beat them.

Yes he tried bringing that out when he took over the reigns in Zimbabwe, out smarted every body, he even out smarted Rex Nongo who thought he was then building himself a kingdom when helping him to power arresting all that were against Mugabe.

His tact appears very much to have been based on the world politics soon after the second world war. He studied well into that politics. He further seems to have been helped by the repartitioning of Africa following the cold war era.

Mugabe sort to practice all his admiration of the period on Zimbabwe wherein he based his political leadership on divide and rule inherited from the white regime.

Mugabe spent years getting what he wants his own way.

Up until the death of Rex Nongo (Mujuru) he was safe, but not any more, nor is his wife and family. He killed Rex as he was now a thorn on his side, wanting him to resign. The problem here is Mujuru was in his direct way on appointing his successor, his wife Grace Mugabe.

He had to go, and he did using what ever gang. The death of Rex has been highlighted by Grace who thought her husband was taking too long to bring her to the lime light. She short her mouth out fortunately for her, touching on the subject every citizen was interested to hear corruption. Is it now that she has come to know of it or is it time she thought she had to make a move?

One has to look at her husband's age to realise her thinking and misguidedness. As Rex has been calling beyond his grave Mugabe makes his biggest mistake of attempting to position his wife for a take over by destroying what is left of Rex, his wife Joyce Mujuru.

This is a costly mistake which cannot be seen now but its results will be a complete destruction of Mugabe and his family, one has to just wait. Which former ZANLA combatants would want to be led by a chimbwido? It will be interesting to see. At the moment Mugabe is a shield to many and cannot be tempered with. He has to complete his mission of safe guarding those corrupt and inept Zanu-PF sharks. His death will usher in a new era of purging those that were perceived to be too close to him.

The problem that is helping the survival of Zanu-PF after Mugabe is Tsvangirai. If this thick, hard to reason man had the people of Zimbabwe at heart he would have stepped down to pave way for a strong opposition, but he is a man who only learns the wrong side of politics like Mugabe.

Zimbabwe hold on the drama is about to unfold.
