Morgan Tsvangirai pursuing a useless agenda
14 Jan 2015 at 15:17hrs | Views
It is an oversimplification for a rather complex issue for a failed politician in the name of Morgan Tsvangirai to stand in front of the political podium purporting to be a saint in order to fortify his own position. How can a person of his stature, as we know him, have the guts to declare that the "thick' Mnangagwa will never change.
Tsvangirai's statement labeling the Acting President, Emmerson Mnangagwa, as a "stubborn or unrepentant ghost from the past" shows that the man has run out of ideas. Honestly, what do we expect from this buffoon of dubious credentials. The man has been wantonly issuing out frivolous and confusing press statements confusing the electorate on his confused political vendettas.
It is notable that while the MDC formations are competing to undermine Zim- Asset and derail economic reforms, SADC, the AU and the international community have, together with the local business community, joined hands with the Government to make Zim-Asset work.
The discourse in Zimbabwe has moved away from the "crisis" that is all over Tsvangirai's Press statement to "development", which is the new rallying point that speaks to Zim-Asset whose implementation is set for major acceleration in 2015.
Zimbabweans and their counterparts in SADC and the AU, along with the international community, do not believe that Tsvangirai, who dismally lost the 2013 election, can ever lead the nation and keep it united when he has hopelessly failed to unite and lead his own party which is falling apart.
There is very loud ring of desperation about Tsvangirai's press statement. The man seems to be full of confusion and profusion. His statement is a desperate response to two developments which are both internal to MDC politics and are a direct result of Tsvangirai's failure to hold his MDC politics and are a direct result of Tsvangirai's failure to hold his MDC together after dividing it twice, in 2005 and 2014.
Tsvangirai also attacked newly appointed Vice Presidents, Emmerson Mnangagwa and Phekezele Mphoko, saying they pretended to be reformists. It is wrong for the failed politician to try to achieve political relevance at this juncture as it is too late or too ghastly to contemplate for his political misfortunes.
Just imagine for the once erstwhile politician to sink so low and be thrown into the doldrums of politics. How can a man who wants to occupy the highest office on this land live on handouts in the form of Ecocash contributions into his personal account. Such people should get out of politics for their wishes are to loot from the electorate.
The two Vice Presidents, chosen by the President, are men of integrity and have saved in different portifolios and excelled in the executions of their duties. Well done Your Excellency for giving us no nonsense men.
Aluta continua!
