Wangu - Finally I have Mine
Observing the basic principles of arithmetic, counting the days as they come and go - from the 11th of October 2014 to today the 19th of January 2015 marks 100days. A complete century if days could be defined and translated into years!
Exactly 100 days ago, the majority of the democratic brigade settled for yours truly, the fruition of a long and protracted campaign. A venture whose theme bordered more on one's love for the struggle, our people and the brand of our party the MDC T as led by Dr. Morgan Tsvangirai.
Remaining true to the conviction and commitment to service, Wangu - Mine as affectionately called have adhered to the core of the media and publicity creed:
1. Defining the beauty of our struggle - Without hesitation or fear, Wangu - Mine has done his best with the better of the best in store: The grains, texture, and complexion of our struggle being defined and celebrated. Our struggle story being defined told and celebrated with the best adjectives. A complete resort to superlatives as the story of Zimbabwe's greatest political party is given to the world.
2. On time and a proactive response - A techno-savvy mechanism has been put into place to deal with any unruly elements of the regime and other retrogressive forces. A robust system to repel negative publicity and the correction of all untrue, half-baked truths had been dealt with accordingly.
3. Equal opportunities for all -Wangu - Mine have been on a crusade and still remains on track to give equal opportunities to all. Cadres and activists had been celebrated. The generally unknown, ignored and uncelebrated were all newsworthy as they transacted their party business in the great endeavor to retire the regime. Card carrying members, branch members suddenly found themselves "googleable "on reputable news sites a true testimony that - finally the people have theirs telling the story of their struggle.
4. Occupy invade every available media space- A complete onslaught has been launched and still remains in progression. The story of our struggle, the celebration of our party brand has been taken to greater heights and exported to a diversity of platforms. The print media, electronic media have all accepted that there is no talk of Zimbabwe without the involvement and mention of the Tsvangirai -led MDC T party since it the greatest political outfit in the country.
5. The brand MDC T and Tsvangirai - Abiding by the old adage that Tsvangirai means MDC T and the same is commutatively defined. The brand MDC T is not complete without the mention of Dr. Morgan Tsvangirai. There is a seamless connection between the "two" entities if not just one entity. In all truth it makes sense to talk more of Tsvangirai than just the MDC because our political space is littered with a multiplicity of MDCs some bearing similar suffixes in a bid to cause confusion to the electorate . Without hesitation, the only known Dr. Morgan Tsvangirai has withstood the storms and remained true to the democratic agenda. This makes it easier for the people to understand the mention of Tsvangirai as being synonymous with the struggle for a new and democratic Zimbabwe.
6. Remaining true to the people's supremacy - At all material times and going forward, the mandate of the people remains my compass. As yours truly transacts party business, represents the people's organ in any spheres and all other forum - I remain grounded and loyal to the people whose mandate I carry. I have elected to listen more and talk less. To remain as part of the team and not to impose my views - thy servant at thy service with all humility.
The 100 days of service had been an exciting adventure. I have met knew personalities including those of the people I thought I knew better. I have grown to appreciate unity in diversity more and the great political dividends as a result of humility. It is a great omission not to mention my discovery that Zimbabweans still have faith in a new Zimbabwe despite the almost recurring political fraud at the instigation of Mugabe and his partners in crime. As a student of politics all this had been worthwhile.
Special mention and appreciations goes to all the MDC T district executives in South Africa. The branches and all members of the party of excellence deserve my humble salute. To all provincial executive members of all wings - I am honored to work with wonderful people like you and pray that the same Tsvangirai - induced unity binds us together forever. The members of the fourth state remain an important cog of our mission to liberate our beloved Zimbabwe and I give my thanks to them.
The entire MDC T family remains an important component of this milestone. Without you comrades, I am nothing. The Bvondo-led Youth Assembly, the Amai Kore-led Women's assembly and my home province of Harare I say thank you Chairlady Amai Bunjira, my brother Chairman Stanly Manyenga and my confidante Chairman Eric Murayi you made it happen.
The invaluable guidance of our national leaders deserves mention. My senior, Hon Obert Chaurura Gutu, the MDC T National Spokesperson and the entire national management committee - last but not least the President himself, Dr. Morgan Richard Tsvangirai.
Once I say thank you for the exciting 100days as MDC T South Africa Information and publicity Secretary dancing the Tsvangirai music together.
.
Thank you!!!
