The problem with Mugabe and Tsvangirai

04 Mar 2015 at 12:05hrs | Views
Zimbabwe appears not to have moved away from the early politics where mafia groups had huge influence on all spheres of life for their own gain. Whether low level council, town or government elections, appointments of all government officials, police, the army, virtually every where they had a hand. This made it easy for them to trade in what ever they chose or commit murders, kidnappings and whatever crime they were in.

Politics in Zimbabwe never moved out of this era as demonstrated by His Excellence R G Mugabe and the Honourable President M Tsvangirai. The two have a similarity hard to separate and sincerely copied at every level, I find it hard to tell the difference though those close to them see otherwise.

Firstly these two man have no slightest idea on when to stop violence in their organisations, when to move on from a crisis like incidences in their parties.

One big thing I learnt as a ZIPRA combatant from my senior commanders is the fact that in the mid seventies they suddenly realised that a lot of people were coming in with various levels of education and experience on different fields. They immediately changed their command approach. Having realised that their expectation of respect from these people was bringing in challenges, they changed it to an approach of earning respect form their forces. This produced a highly trained, disciplined army led by young officers they had identified and empowered who could be moved into high command at any time. As a result ZIPRA under ZAPU did not attempt to fight ZANU-PF government at any time a job that could have been the simplest of all. History will recognise the peace these gallant fighters brought into Zimbabwe in the face of repeated persecution.

The thing here is RG Mugabe and M Tsvangirai have failed to realise the importance of earning respect from the people of Zimbabwe and the international community. They have expected to be respected for what they perceive they have achieved and no one else could manage. What they fail to understand is that they have destroyed whatever little respect they could master from anywhere except from those with hate and vengefulness, those who stand to gain by their presence, those that are ignorant of right and wrong, those that are criminals who want protection, those that have no futuristic focus further than their nose and the less intelligent who are ordinary opportunists who cannot be anything except waging themselves to the likes of these two. It is sad that while modern politics has changed so much and is fast changing some individuals like these and their followers chose to drag the nation to embarrassing lowest levels in the world.

Mr M Tsvangirai his life has been thrown open not by hate but by his self destructive image drive, a trip and almost fall of RG Mugabe goes viral on every paper or social media and the less intelligent cannot even see that this has largely been caused by the same self authored self destructive drive. The respect these two expect without fighting to earn it by doing the honourable has dented their images and created unfortunate failures in their lives.

Tsvangirai has kept ZANU-PF in power and is not about to give up his desire to see ZANU-PF remain in power as long as he lives. He would have been a hero above all had he realised that his continued stay gives ZANU-PF life, but no he has eyes to the presidency he will never get at all.

Mugabe a man with lost dignity, with a wife who sees Zimbabwe as a family project positioning and repositioning herself for take over at any time, is a lonely old man who has not only his hands dripping of blood but entire body sticking of the dead he murdered heartlessly. He has taken out all he believed were a threat to his reign of terror and remain with those with doubtful and most questionable characters littered with skeletons in their closets.

Then Zimbabwe give M Tsvangirai the state power and experience treble fold what his uncle failed to achieve during his reign of terror.
