A REJOINDER: Mugabe calls truce to carefully orchestrated factional war that has Mnangagwa shaken and stirred in equal measure

It is time Zimbabweans support ideas irrespective of affiliation and gunging up which has fueled President Mugabe innuendos in the control and blackmailing to the core attempts at building opposition politics in Zimbabwe. Opposition politics is not and should not just be a name but rather an effective tool to undress nakedly the acts and wrong deeds of a party in government. Politics in Zimbabwe has grown brutal, nasty and worse still corrupted in the game of ‘My Mercedes is bigger than yours' a concept epitomizing inferiority complex of failure and defeat. The desire in outward show to displaying wealthy acquired in skeptical behind-doors-schemes overtakes the ambitious that use the door of politics to gain personal material benefits.

The article by Patrick Guramatunhu-"Mugabe calls truce to carefully orchestrated factional war that has Mnangagwa shaken and stirred in equal measure - See more at: http://bulawayo24.com/index-id-opinion-sc-columnist-byo-81844.html"  in my opinion, is well composed and articulated. The game of divide and rule superficially has remained something Robert Mugabe has publicly condemned when applicable to colonial era, but failed to admit he is a victim of it out of greedy and wild ambition.

No doubt from day one when Robert Mugabe was invited into Zanu those who do careful studies on politics will agree, his taste of power is personal and for his benefit craftily endorsed as though covering suffering masses.  In 1980 our experience on democratic process was limited and still so for those who have never left the country or stayed anywhere other than home. Perceptions and outlook are limited to the testimony that Zanu liberated the country. By Zanu, it has referred always and specifically to one man, Robert Mugabe, and time has redeemed that observation obvious and clearer.

That he has worked tirelessly to destroy opposition politics and build a one state dictatorship need no questioning at all given the fullness of time. Denying this truth can only highlight how, with time, entrenched his blackmail of cohorts and surrogate, has successfully changed Zanu into a fully-fledged corrupt system.

This is where I find Patrick analysis pertinently exposing the clandestine life-long plot of Mugabe to declare himself a monarch in Zimbabwe. The 2008 GNU arrangements with blessing of Thabo Mbeki as America's point person evidently reveal two aspects in Zimbabwe politics of decay:
 - That Robert Mugabe had one more chance of making opposition politics ineffective operationally even though the increase in multiplying opposition should be encouraged as a final ‘death' to democratic processes.

 - That Robert Mugabe has to watch his back among his supporters because he was a much-disliked person as a leader at grassroots' level. This covers why Mbeki's report on Zimbabwe politics by South African army generals commissioned by his administration never made public.

In the context of the above look back at history and see developments that followed the expiration of GNU term that proved beyond a doubt the importance of opposition politics in Zimbabwe. If we keep building a house on sand, which is empowered from corrupt funding of Zanu, the house will sink to the glory of Zanu. The ordinary Zimbabwean will hate what he sees and waits for an opportunity for honesty people to challenge corruption and not be part of it even if it means such leadership the regime will detain.

It is a pity that an open debate in Zimbabwe is supressed for similar reasons by Robert Mugabe regime. The open house approach to election receives same treatment from Zanu because they shield one man Robert Mugabe from exposure. Open debate and international supervision to elections including reforms are keys that if done, Zanu will never win majority in Zimbabwe again.

People in the Diaspora and inside the country agree that the toil and hard labour under mismanaged economy, in Zimbabwe, has exceeded the mark of tolerance. The African Union however has played mother to the root of all evils almost replacing the colonial legacy. It is inconceivable that no African leader whether quietly or openly, can truthfully stand and say Robert Mugabe is treating the people fairly by imposing military control over the affairs of the country.

Record has to be put right though and admit that Ian Khama of Botswana has spoken openly but received no support whatsoever from African leadership. If many of us thought and supported good ideas from among our lot than Personalities yoked into Mugabeisms out of greedy, Zimbabwe condition and state would be drastically different. What lacks among us are good ideas that will bear and deliver democracy.

By the way, Mugabeism is a system that purports to grant masses free rein when actually it is a ploy for power control and abuse of majority rule by denying rule of law practice.

Indeed Robert Mugabe has called a truce on the so-called G40s mayhem that could have finally sunk him too politically because they have rattled his opponents within enough to signal danger. He does it too to the nation and ordinary people are terrified of Zanu leadership abuse, to say the least. The worst scenario is that corruption makes Zanu do things that will not be done in any normal situations while the world watch  them to get away.

The British know this, the Americans know this but because they are protecting their interests, they keep quiet. We cannot keep quiet. The Chinese are now part to inhuman treatment of masses by leaders of less developed nations using their economic advantage to build a stake in Africa.

Irrespective though this is where I like Guramatunhu sentiments: We need speak unequivocally against abuse, exploitation and oppression and rise to owning the democratic rights reclaiming democracy and her processes in Zimbabwe.  We can do it. We have done it before. Resolve and determination without looking and envying to corruption in Zanu is and should be rule number one to beating Zanu politically.
