Only gullible people would take Lumumba seriously

From being a staunch ZANU PF member and supporter as well as a losing ZANU PF candidate for Hatfield in the 2013 harmonized elections, Acie Lumumba has now changed his colours to where he actually belongs not what he has been doing in cheating the environment like what the chameleon always does when cornered. People should always know that a chameleon changes its colour to suit the environment and people like Lumumba does exactly the same so they not be surprised by whatever he says and does.
Lumumba is now trying to make himself relevant politically by constantly attacking the establishment which he was always defending and seeing nothing bad in being part and parcel of it. His uninspiring blasting of ZANU PF and its leadership shows that he has lost direction and now seeking political survival from across the political field. It is known that Lumumba cannot be a know-it-all of today in some few days which he has found himself out of work when he was fired from being chairperson of a Steering Committee on the Zimbabwe Youth Empowerment Strategy for Investment by the Minister of Indigenisation and Economic Empowerment Cde Patrick Zhuwao.
For those who might be surprised by the whole information above and not have come across the video which Lumumba posted recently on his Facebook account making quite a number of some issues directed to President Robert Gabriel Mugabe and his ruling party ZANU PF read below. In that video Lumumba among other things directed his effort to President Mugabe in which he wanted to know when the electoral promises of the 2013 harmonised elections would be fulfilled. Furthermore he asks President Mugabe why it has taken long for the two million jobs to be created which he promised the electorate that they would be availed to the unemployed youths. Lumumba continues to ask the President why he is not acting against those people who are destroying the country through corrupt tendencies.
Still in the video, Lumumba again asks the President when the economic hardships which the Zimbabweans are facing would come to an end. He further goes on to claim that he is a full member of ZANU PF and he is not going anywhere but needs ZANU PF to reform itself before it is forced to reform. Lumumba says that President Mugabe should fire his whole cabinet just because they are failing to revive the economic situation of the country. He also goes further to blast the effort by the Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe Governor Dr John Mangudya`s move to stimulate the economic crisis by introduction of the bond notes. Lumumba paints a dim light on the incoming use of the bond notes by the public saying that they will not change anything as they are going to create economic chaos similar to that experienced by Zimbabweans in 2008.
Well for those who managed to listen to what Lumumba said, they could be tempted to welcome him as their hero because to them he has managed to say out what has been viewed as taboo in ZANU PF. Lumumba could now be viewed by his audiences as someone who is not afraid to say out what he wants without fear of reprisals from the ZANU PF leadership in which he is a member and former 2013 harmonized elections ZANU PF candidate for Hatfield constituency in Harare. But would they really still take him seriously. Why is it that Lumumba took it too long to see what he is now beginning to see and talk about that?
Those with political vision and who have been in the political field before him could see that Lumumba is just seeking political relevance. Actually Zimbabweans should not be surprised by Lumumba`s rantings against ZANU PF as he is not the first individual to do so when spurned by those close to one another. When he was enjoying the comfort of this revolutionary party ZANU PF, Lumumba saw nothing wrong until he was chucked out from being an influential member of the ZANU PF youths. So his blasting of ZANU PF and its leadership today are just moves to buy friends from those who have been enemies of the ruling party.
People are quite aware that since the time in which Lumumba lost his bid to be ZANU PF Member of Parliament for Hatfield Constituency to Tapiwa Mashakada of the opposition MDC-T, he did not see anything wrong coming from President Robert Gabriel Mugabe and ZANU PF. He kept on serving the revolutionary party in various portfolios without problems. Lumumba devoted his time in making sure that ZANU PF is protected in whatever it did. To him ZANU PF was the party of his choice and he did not see anything amiss coming from it. Surprisingly he is now seeing a different ZANU PF and different President Mugabe just because he has joined a bandwagon of some opposition hopeless individuals.
Actually Lumumba should blame himself for finding himself in the situation which he is in now. Instead of him running professionally that steering committee in which he was the chairperson, Lumumba got himself fired by Minister Zhuwao on allegations of misappropriations of the funds meant for ZYC operations and then all hell broke loose. He started attacking Minister Zhuwao as someone who is corrupt and not fit to be a cabinet minister. Lumumba claimed that he did nothing wrong that deserved him to be fired but was only fired by Minister Zhuwao from being Chairman of that Steering Committee because he refused orders from Minister Zhuwao who wanted to get three percent of money from Old Mutual meant for ZYC. Whether those allegations against Minister Zhuwao by Lumumba were true or not but the question that wants to be answered by him is why did he kept quiet for all along about such alleged illicit dealings by the Minister only to say that after being fired. These are totally sour grapes which cannot be taken seriously by serous people.
While those who care to take Lumumba seriously about what he said in the video as well as what he said against President Mugabe and ZANU PF, but those with a deep understanding of politics in the country would still ask the same Lumumba why he has taken long to see what he said in both incidences. Lumumba now asks the President about how elections promises would be fulfilled as if he is talking sense, what led him to take so long to say that shows that he felt nothing wrong about that until he was fired from his work.
Lumumba should not buy friends and associates by attacking the only political party which gave him political limelight. Actually he should appreciate that Zimbabwe is under such economic problems because of some economic sanctions which were imposed in the country by the west as a result of the land reform which the government wanted to make sure that some indigenous people including Lumumba himself are empowered economically. So his attacks on President Mugabe and ZANU PF are just null and void as he failed to do the same when things were going according to his satisfaction during his time as Chairperson of a Steering Committee on the Zimbabwe Youth Empowerment Strategy for Investment and a member of ZANU PF.
