Devotional: Consider the ant and be strong
28 Jun 2016 at 11:34hrs | Views
Today the Bible instructs us in Proverbs 6 v 6 that "Go to the ant, O sluggard; consider her ways, and be wise".
The strength of the ant is not in its body size, its weight, its height or the power of its limbs but it is in its smallness. Small as ant's maybe they can carry a weight more than 20 times its own size. This is due to the wisdom the ants have which is the same wisdom that God says we should learn from the ants and have.
People may look at you and consider you an ant. There is something in you that makes you despised among other human beings like an ant is despised among other animals because of its body size.
We all have have ant-like weaknesses which make other people despise us. It may be poverty, lack, height, weight, education, marital status, fertility, your job, your tribe, your race, facial beauty, skin color, your background, your residence, your income, temper, your physical or mental disability. That which people look at and see in you and use to despise you is your ant-like challenge.
As you are, God wants to work with you to transform the world and to show the world that HE IS GOD.
So wake up, wipe your tears, dust-off your poor self-esteem and start worshiping God for He has carefully and deliberately chosen you ‘the foolish of the world to shame the wise; the weak of the world to shame the strong; the lowly and despised of the world to nullify them that are' (1 Corinthians 1 v 28).
Dare to Declare
Lord Jesus Christ as you said in Joel 3 v 10 that 'let the weak say I am strong' I declare today that I am strong, I am rich, I am powerful, I am educated, I am successful, I am prosperous, I am fruitful, I am beautiful, I am useful, I am worthy, I am energetic, I am healed, I am able - In Jesus Christ's Name
