Less quacking more action

(Warning: The following message may change your life)
Most male ducks are silent and very few ducks actually quack.
More action and less talking! It's even better to do little things than to just 'quack' about big things whilst doing nothing. Contrary to popular belief, very few ducks actually quack and most male ducks are silent. Ducks generally do more action and less quacking. Yes, that's less talking and more action required on our part. There is power in silence. I know some of us may have come to a point where we understand the power of the spoken words. We know that what we say is what we get as what you confess and profess is what you possess. What you decree and declare is what will eventually come to pass.
Well, the good thing is that we are on the same page; I agree with this school of thought or belief system. What is unfortunate however is that some tend to talk unnecessarily to everyone about their dreams in the name of declarations or decrees. Yes, you need to constantly speak to yourself; encourage yourself by speaking positively about your life and dreams. There is power in your tongue, I know and believe it. My concern is that we sometimes don't understand when and where to speak. Speaking of your dreams is effective when spoken in the right time, with the right people and for the right reasons.
Ducks have some good timing as to when they quack. They quack-less as they do more. It's important to choose the times of quacking and when to have those crucial powerful moments of silence. Don't quack (talk) about your dreams unless you really have to. No quacking, unless you know that it's for a good cause. Underestimating the negative power of unnecessary quacking about your dream or vision can have devastating consequences. I know of many people who gave up their dreams because they told the wrong people who discouraged and criticized them until they gave up.
I know of some people who spoke too prematurely about their noble dreams and inventions they were planning, only for other people to come and steal their ideas and implement them before the original dreamer. The result of this was some several court cases over copyrights issues, the dreamer dragging the imitator to courts for stealing his ideas. The realization of our dreams will come when we have the wisdom to perceive when to speak and when to embrace the power of silence. Limiting our quacking like ducks will get us far.
Les Brown states, 'Lions don't have to roar. There is power in silence, confidence, and persistence. Those who work don't talk, and those who talk don't work. Handle your business. Measure your efforts by results. Focus your time, energy and activity on mastering and executing a plan. Avoid the energy draining practice of telling people what you're going to do. Instead, spend time in doing things that are necessary to accomplish your goals; and stay determined in order to pursue your dream. Let your work (and results), not your words, speak for itself.'
The Unseen Effort Behind The Spectacular
A duck swimming in a pond seems to be moving without any effort, but under the surface, it paddles (or cycles) with its feet like mad!
The duck's spectacular cruise in a pond is due its great unseen effort behind the scenes (under the surface). Great achievements can sometimes seem to have been achieved without much effort. This is because the great achievers don't usually invite us to their training grounds or to witness their rehearsals. We only see their 'sweet' moments but we know little about their sweating moments. We enjoy the spectacular sight of ducks swimming calmly on the surface and forget to consider the unseen effort propelling it forward. If we intend to be as effective at the great ducks (great men) we see, we need to put in the equal amount of hard work they put, which is normally unseen.
Many people are intrigued by the performances of great actors, public speakers and sportsmen. They never consider several rehearsals that the actors had to do or the hours of intense practice that these skillful sportsmen had to do 'underneath the surface.' Increased productivity and proficiency become possible when we embrace the fact that there is an unseen 'sweat' behind the seen 'sweet.' Work harder and quietly behind the scenes, but work smarter as well. As you work harder, remember to work smarter as well. Working smarter means applying wisdom in what you do.
Nevertheless working smarter should not substitute working harder. The combination of harder and smarter can take you much further, faster. Every time I hear many people claiming that you should work smarter, not harder, I am always tempted to respond, 'But working harder and smarter is much more effective.' Some work harder, some work smarter. Those who work smarter will achieve more than those who only work harder, however, the one who works both harder and smarter has an advantage over the one who only works smarter or harder.
