'Citizens are tired of being taken for ride by Zanu-PF'

Yours truly wishes to congratulate Cde Temba Mliswa for his victory, as an Independent Candidate, in the #NortonByElection. Surely, Cde Mliswa has defied the odds against the Opposition ( MDC-T, Zim People First, ZUNDE and other fifteen political parties) critical decision to boycott by-elections until electoral reforms have been fully implemented.

Of course fellow citizens are tired of being taken for ride by the ZANU PF regime and this result, by the electorate, explicitly sends the message clear to the ruling party.

As a reminder, the "message" has been send to the ruling party since the 2000s, by the electorate, but voter intimidation, torture, murders, abductions & rigging was the order of the day! Hence ZANU PF's so called shock and surprise is nothing but a sinister joke.

President Robert Mugabe and his ruling party knows very well that once they allow credibly free and fair elections in Zimbabwe, the electorate, just like they did in #NortonByElection, will show them a middle finger.

That being said, the so called "victory" is a typical game of checkers being played by ZANU PF, in an attempt to give hope to the opposition that ZANU PF has reformed from their traditional ways of vote rigging, as well as conceding defeat without causing mayhem.

This result will be used as a credible reference in undermining main Opposition decision to boycott elections until electoral reforms have been implemented.

This victory is going to be publicised, especially by the State media in a deceitful attempt to show the world that democracy (in the form of free and fair elections) exist in Zimbabwe thereby disregarding citizens or Opposition outcry for a reformed electoral system as well as free and fair elections ahead of 2018 national elections under the banner of the National Electoral Reform Agenda (NERA).

Unfortunately, if our opposition is fooled by this trick and convince citizens to vote before electoral reforms are implemented, surely ZANU PF is garnering for a landslide! The #NortonByElection is simply a false impression of a free and fair election.

In light of the above, the only tragedy for opposition parties demanding electoral reforms ahead of 2018 national elections under the banner of the National Electoral Reform Agenda (NERA) is that the so-called electoral reforms will never see the light of the day, in my view, for as long as this regime is still at the helm! For the simple reason that "they won't reform themselves out of power, " as their chief propagandist Prof Jonathan Moyo once said😊
